The first part, 776.012 is too vague and just the mention of fear allows someone to take the life of another. This is the part of stand your ground that allowed Zimmerman to shoot Martin. I think this section needs to be changed. I have no problem with a person defending themselves or their family, especially in their home. I don't believe that Zimmerman's case met that criteria.

I have no problem with Stand Your Ground, except for the first part which is too ambiguous. The man was defending his home and family, a big difference from Tryavon Martin. My link
