Well you know me and my mouth! I confronted a guy playing some very loud music with very obscene words when I was out with my Granddaughter. She was about 6 years old and he was parked in a place that I could not avoid with these words blaring out of the open windows. He also had the name of a business all over the vehicle. Do you know that Georgia has an old law on the books prohibiting the use of profanity in the presence of women and children. It is still there unless it has been removed recently.

Maybe so. I know that the Judge is well respected and I think his ruling will have an effect on the way the law is written in the near future. I still will side with the Judge on this one.

I think that is because the Judge knew the law, hence the directed verdict. If he had not ruled the way he did it would have been more money spent by all parties with the end result being the same. If it reached the same Supreme Court who has already ruled that no law was broken they would have ruled the way the Judge in Cobb did. The law needs to be addressed if the state does not want this to happen again. That is the remedy.

That is why in most contracts that teachers sign with the schools there is a MORALS clause. I believe this type of thing should absolutely by handled by the employer and swiftly. This guy should not teach in a public school system ever again.

If they are not afraid of losing the ability to make a living after years in school to earn a degree(s) why would they worry about being arrested for it. The law should be amended but until it is the DA's need to stop prosecuting them. Spending that kind of money in this economy on a losing case is just not wise. JMO

By now the DA's in Georgia should know it is not against the law. Cobb's DA should have known before he filed the charges.

I worked in the system for a number of years. I would be afraid to even hug a child today if I still worked in it. Very sad, because some of them really need to be hugged.

Will they have to change the age of consent from 16 or will they just add Teachers to the list along with the other professions named? I wonder how they will approach this.

What was the DA in Cobb thinking? This was a case that should not have cost the County/State money to prosecute. There was no law against what the teacher did BUT he should NEVER be allowed to teach again. I think it was a directed verdict and that says something all by its self.

We stayed there this summer and we liked it very much. Had a view of the huge lake (complete with alligator) and the wonderful pool. I have some beautiful pictures.

I would absolutely agree with you IF I knew how much road and bridge damage has to be repaired as a result of the flood. I wonder if FEMA will give grants for that or if the county will have to cover the cost. I think there is some. I don't think money should be spent for things we don't need. Jobs should be the #1 priority outside of the safety of the residents and I don't think those crosswalk lights qualify.

You are right. BB is a loyal friend. We should all be lucky enough to have at least one that loyal. The Speaker has resigned and it is all over. Paulding now needs to start thinking of who should best fill his seat and pray that his family can deal with this and move on.

Richardson I think since that is closer to home and 3 kids are involved.

I don't know you but I think you are the kind of person I would be proud to know. We should all be praying for the innocents who are caught up in this mess.
