There is some fighting going on in Washington about the renewal of NCLB. Of course the testing results will play a part in these political battles.
-
Sounds high to me too. We have to keep in mind that this test is one Georgia made up to test Georgia students. The ones I am very much interested in are the National tests such as the ITBS. How do our students do on those?
-
I don't agree with you. Without testing we do not know if we are doing a good job of educating the children. I do agree that there is too much of it.
-
So how did Paulding County do? How did your child's school do? Link: http://www.ajc.com/n...lts-983502.html I think this only has district scores. Guess school by school scores will be out soon.

I hope not. I know he does a great job of watching expenses and he has done all he could to cut costs. Good man and a good Sheriff.

Mexico Sues Georgia Over Immigration Law

Maybe it was just a poor choice of media to get your point across. You took it down so I took down my comment. -
At least you are capable of taking care of the problem and moving on. Tree is now gone and you are free to do what you have to do. I am sorry your day was unpleasant. Look on the bright side, at least you were not at that spot in your car when the tree fell!

Saxby usually comes down on the farmers side because he sat on the Agriculture Committee for so long. At least that is why I always thought he did. This is a great post and I agree with you. I would like to see the small farmer get a break and come out on top for a change. The work will get done. -

Pubby, I am not for arresting them if we don't have to. This Law will hit the employers who hire them and if there is no work here they will leave on their own. Enforce this law and they will leave. After all that is the goal isn't it? -

We shall see how it plays out in the courts. This law will be found constitutional and other states are writing some like them as we speak. Maybe we can avoid becoming a state like California. They might as well become part of Mexico because that is who populates the state now. They waited too long to protect their borders and the folks voting out there have roots in Mexico. Look at our census report. It is happening here. Mexico would like for us to keep supporting their citizens so they don't have to. All illegals do not come from Mexico and I guess that would explain the interest -

If I had a family to feed and I was out of work I would pick these crops just to take some of it home to give to my family. My Mother and Daddy did it when the unions struck and he would not cross the picket line. They just need to get that kind of person to the fields. Maybe give them transportation and some kind of shelter until the harvest is in. It does not have to be illegal workers. -

Nope! Don't see it that way Pubby. Just because the businesses have abused the illegal immigration issue does not mean the the citizens of this country have agreed to it. They are now finding that the states are going to have to make laws to address it because the Federal Government has failed to do it. The citizens do not agree with you Pubby. I just read an article is the AJC about the effect on the school systems in GA that an exodus of illegals may have concerning population. Look for it to save the taxpayer a lot of money if that exodus happens. I posted the info about the lawsuit -
Yes!!!! We are spreading the US Military too thin and we need to concentrate on protecting our own borders. I agree with NG that it is part of a bigger plan. Good post!

We like "Pete's" coffee. We like it strong too. I have not checked to see if it comes in decaf.

What a great gift! That stuff is expensive.

Just so you know Saxby says he will run again. I will remember votes like this.

Should individual school administrations have more input in these decisions or do you think the zero tolerance policies are working? Link to story: http://www.times-georgian.com/view/full_story/14366560/article-Schools-turning-zero-tolerance-into-case-by-case-judgment?instance=TG_home_story_offset
