Austin, Henson, Rollins and Bookout victors in city elections
NewsJunky replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Whose fault do you think that is? Don't know how anyone could miss the campaign signs. Mrs. B, I have not seen the numbers yet on the city of Hiram. I just know I was cheering for two of the winners. Bookout and Rollins. -

I think it was a far larger turnout than in past years. People who don't go to the polls should never open their mouths about the kind of government they get. The Hiram results were also quite interesting. -

Seems to be passing every where it was on the ballot. -
12 years ago almost any sexual harassment allegation was toxic so big companies settled them just to get rid of the folks making them. I think the one who is about to speak out was a Clinton appointee (current position) originally. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

You did not get what I said. I do not believe them so from my point of view the real story about what happened and what the women's motives are has to be the most important story. I think they are either greedy and wanted money, it is politically motivated, or some of them just like the press they are getting

My point is that it does not matter to them when it is a Democrat they should be toughly vetting. They can't get enough of tearing a conservative apart. I do not believe Cain is guilty. We know Clinton was. The behind the scenes story is the one they should be after.
-
You mean they have gotten even more liberal? How is that even possible?
-
It did come up. Jennifer Flowers held a news conference and told everyone about her 12 year affair with him and played tapes to prove it. The news media decided not to run with it the way they have with Cain. Does anyone need to ask why?
-
(1) You only have her word (2) Even if she could prove it I don't think asking is considered harassment. If she said no and that was the end of it there was no harassment (3) What was that ruling when Clinton was actually charged with something worse? Think they ruled that if he stopped when she said no then there was no case. (4) Why are the media and the liberals trying to take out Cain with no proof? Could it be that they are afraid he could win?

Unless you are a candidate for President. These folks will come out of the wood work. True or not they get their 15 minutes of fame or the money they were after to begin with. It sure doesn't rise to the level of the charges numerous women made against Bill Clinton. Hey, they were even true and the news media did not go after him the way they have Cain.

She may simply be backing another candidate or she may just want to see her name in print. Alred is all I needed to hear to know that it is all about publicity. I don't believe her. Very convenient that there are no witnesses. Yep!

He is a huge failure and I believe he will be replaced with a better person in 2012. We shall see.

Amazing how many will lie to make the cop look like he was to blame and that scum bag out to be a hero for doing what he was doing. They have no focus and most don't even know why they are really there. They are costing the city a fortune that the taxpayers will have to pay. I read where Wall street has made profits under Obama. Now how do you suppose that happened? http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/wall-streets-resurgent-prosperity-frustrates-its-claims-and-obamas/2011/10/25/gIQAKPIosM_print.html

Never bought that one, did you?

There were about 20 arrests in Atlanta last night. The protesters had cost the city over $450,000 before the trouble last night the bill is going to be much larger now. I wonder how many of them are worried about the folks who have to pay those bills? http://www.washingto...FRsM_video.html http://www.ajc.com/n...ed-1218835.html

Then you must also know there is a move to get it done through the Legislature. No it is not entirely dead. -
No the state won't own it if a private developer builds the road the developer will.

I like what Mississippi has on their ballot about eminent domain. Why aren't our Legislators doing something like this? http://www.foxnews.c...main-authority/ Mississippi Voters to Consider New Law Limiting Eminent Domain Authority -
It looks to me like they have decided to try and get the Legislature to do what they could not get done.

All they have to give is fair market value. If they jacked that up it would not look good at all and it would add insult to injury for other taxpayers. -

It would be nice if we had more elected officials like him! -
So which opinion are you giving us here, the one where the big bad corporations are taking business elsewhere so they can make a profit or the one where Obama and friends are improving the ecomomy and big business is creating new jobs.

Those folks donated land because they WANTED to do it not because it was taken away from them. Huge difference. -

I am sure fair market value helps folks feel better when roads are cut through land that has been owned by their families for generations. I know "it is for the common good". is it right to take land from families when the profit is going to a private company.
