One of the mission statements of the Women's Club is to educate it's members and anyone in the community who wants to attend the meetings about political issues and government in general. The meeting yesterday gave nothing but facts pro and con. LPPT is right, most of the folks in the room were against it and I did not see many minds changed. Not everybody wants to be on camera and I think their wishes should be respected. Mr. Savage is a candidate for Cobb Commission Chair. He is not a Commissioner.

The funds will come from taxes on medicine, some foods, and almost everyting you buy if I understood Mr. Lewis correctly. That was downside for me. If a region does not pass it they will not get matching funds (some state and some federal) while the regions who do pass it will. Paulding has the highest population in the region and they will have a huge impact on whether or not this passes. Also learned that we will get a new person added to the GA DOT Board to represent the new 14th District. Mr. Lewis represents the 11th. They are voted on by members of the Legislature. Good info LPPT.

They make a spray cleaner for dry erase boards. Wonder if that would work? The paint must be good paint if it is still on that wall.

Hair spray works sometimes. I have not had the paint to come off but you never know.....

The Paulding GOP Young Conservative Scholarship
NewsJunky replied to PauldingGOP's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Don't knock it. It helps to pay for books. Every penny counts and this is only the second year for this scholarship. I expect it will grow when the administration in Washington changes and folks in Paulding have more to donate to it. Yep. It is my understanding that it will be available. -

I think he pulled his support on that.

Not going to do it without protection of my own so it just means that I don't get involved I guess. Guess my neighbors just need to get alarms and that will get the police there. -

So much for trying to help protect your neighbor's property. I think it could be a risk after reading this. -
I saw this last night. Could not believe the history on this guy. It is about time they asked him some serious questions.

6-year-old handcuffed after tantrum in kindergarten class

This seems to be escalating into a "cause". If the parents make it one shame on them. JMO They need to stand up and get help for their child. From today's "Get Schooled" section of the AJC: http://blogs.ajc.com/get-schooled-blog/2012/04/18/handcuffing-of-georgia-kindergartner-escalating-into-a-cause/?cxntfid=blogs_get_schooled_blog -
If you feel that way you should contact one of his opponents and work for him.

If you are speaking of the District 31 Senate race there are already 3 candidates who have announced. Bill Heath-I, Bill Carruth, and Jason Rogers. I don't think either of our Washington Senators are up this year.
-
I will be happy to tell you what I know about these candidates. I do not like the idea of a toll road but I love what is happening with the hospital. I will be asking both candidates about their stand, as of now, on the T-SPLOST and any toll roads. Yep it could swing my support and my vote.
-
You said it before I could. Sad but true.
-
I will be looking at the qualifications of both candidates. I will also check David's record as Commission Chair. If he did the best things for Paulding County that could be done then he will get my vote. I will be voting for one of these men not against one of them because of personal disagreements. I want what is best for Paulding because that will effect my pocket book.
-
You are correct. Governor Deal was not in that all alone. I think a better word might be "They" meaning the supporters in the Legislature. Thank you Tea Party activists!

Isn't it on the Primary ballot for July along with the election of Judges? No extra cost for tax payers.

Some cons on this issue. They should also be considered: Source:http://www.georgiapolicy.org/article.asp?RT=&p=pub/Transportation/Funding/120413Transvote.html The project lists, especially Atlanta's, have been discussed and debated ad infinitum. But the problems run deeper, first being the voter "education" effort. The Foundation has long held that "Georgia's transportation policy must be geared toward increasing mobility and limiting congestion, not 'livability,' 'sustainability' or other liabilities to congestion relief." Proponents, however, are focusing their "education" e

Better read a little more on it Johnny. It won't be any time soon if it passes.

In what century will those things be done with money from THIS T-SPLOST?
