Amendment 1 re: Decisions about Charter Schools
NewsJunky replied to aberdeen's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You do realize that this amendment is to better the chances for the education of our children not to make more money for the teachers? The education system is about the children, isn't it? Oh, and the teachers are not forced to work for any amount of money. They are not forced to work in the system at all. -
Amendment 1 re: Decisions about Charter Schools

No flip flopper on this. She has worked hard for school choice for years and she did home school all of her children. One is working on an advanced degree at Emory right now. She does not home school her grandchildren herself. Yes she is at odds with some folks in the tea party over the issue. I voted for amendment one and would do it again. -
:yahoo: :yahoo: Great news indeed!

Prayers for LR and her family!

I supported him and will campaign against him in the next election. He is a big disappointment. I do agree with you about that.
-
He was special and Paulding has lost a good man. Prayers for his family.

It will lock future administrations into deals made by present administrations. Would not matter if they could get it cheaper or not. It allows for deals that cover up to 10 year periods if I am not mistaken. I am voting no.
-
I think there is also voting on Saturday the 27th.
-
The system should not allow that. You have given more than enough reason to vote for the charter school amendment. Give the good kids a chance to get out of that environment.
-
The only ones I have seen against it are the far left or those employed by the public education system.
-
I know that it is. Prove that it is not.

You never change do you? My information is correct and I am sorry that you don't seem to get it.

Some charter schools are virtual schools they are not brick and mortar. No power or heating bills. Fewer teachers and a lot of parental involvement. They do not cost what public schools cost to operate. My grandchild went to one and when she went back to public school she was ahead of the children there. Give parents the choice. Vote yes.
-
How do most charter schools manage to provide good books on less money? If charter schools do not perform they are closed. Not so with public schools. Charter schools are public schools however they do not get the local funds for the children who attend them. They do get the state and federal funds that go with the child. I am voting for the parents right to choose where their children attend school. I am voting yes on the charter school amendment.

PRAYER ~ Haralson County Football Game
NewsJunky replied to Haleymom's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Now the anti Christian folks have another issue to fuss about. They have put the 10 Commandments up at the Capitol. Prayer at football games and the 10 commandments at the GA Capitol. They can't allow that now can they? -

Congratulations to Micah Gravley on being chosen as the District 67 GOP Candidate on the November Ballot. Bill Hembree will be running to replace Senator Bill Hamrick in District 30 and has resigned. Good choice!

You are misinformed. All Charter schools are not like that at all. It would be great if there was not so much misinformation out there.

Happy Birthday lowrider!
