  1. I went with the double layered glade candles. spiced citrus and cashmere woods. two candles, and two double plug ins. my clean house smells great! and I am exhausted.
  2. me too. with the food smells. not the dike. seems like fall and winter bring out all sorts of coffee, vanilla, and baked goods scented candles. right now I'm leaning toward bayberry, but thinking it may be too early in the season for it. glade has some spiced citrus or something, and cashmere woods. I'm going to walmart for dish liquid anyway. I may go ahead and sniff just these two scents. I'll let y'all know if I buy either.
  3. I need new candles. but after standing in the aisle sniffing the various and assorted scents for more than five minutes, ny nose goes numb! there's a Yankee candle shop right down the road, but even walking in there overwhelms my senses. there are also new glade candle scents out for fall.... what are your tried and true, faithful favorites? I usually burn one in the living room and one in the dining room. I like the kind that really smell.....verses the one pretty, useless ones that you can't smell from down the hall. tell me what you love!
  4. yay! it looks warm and cozy...we have the same fireplace. different mantle though, and no insert. my husband is dying to rip the whole thing out, and put in a wood burning stove in the corner of the room. maybe I could convince him to just modify the one we have, like you did. I'll make sure he sees this, and maybe I'll need to hit you up for more info! thanks for sharing.
  5. I suppose I should feel guilty for admitting that yes, my cable/Internet bill is an acceptable charge. I'm sure that there are cheaper ways to do a lot of things, but I like the convenience of having my cable the way it is. also, because I work from home quite frequently, I'm not going to skimp on my Internet. I no longer have children at home to support, my husband and I both make decent wages, and our bills are always paid on time. we live a comfortable life, give to charity, and do good works in the community. we didn't buy an outrageous home, just because we were pre approved to do so. o
  6. too windy to set the backyard on fire, dangit! so Cletus and I are watching football and cooking Sunday dinner a day early.
  7. The anti Uverse commercials are crap. Uverse doesn't use phone lines. They use fiber optic cable. This is why the existing dsl users are having to switch. My Uverse will be installed on Thursday. I have a signed contracr that says no install fee. Also, I'm getting internet and 5 rooms of television for 107.00 a month. The price doesn't change after a year. My contract says its not a promotional price. No free movie channels that have to be cancelled either. The package we picked U300 comes with starz and showtime included, I think. I'm not sure which two premium movie channels, will have to
  8. As the second wife of a cop, you can talk a litte smack. Emphasis on little....
  9. Our meter is read electronically. I'll hafta go lift the lid and see if it can still be "read" manually so that I can compare it to the bill. I'm kind of scared of what might be living down in that hole.
  10. Interestingly enough, they turned out to be a match. Weird.
  11. I love when there's a match! gotta go dig Angels boots out of her closet. and try not to wake everyone up. I'm so ready to get on the road, and go to sleep!!!
  12. Chicago? or Waukegan? agreed about Groupon. also, he gets Lohan-ed. the prince is an ok guy, I think. much better after the date. turtles carry salmonella. and I cant even read the word butter bean without nearly peeing my pants.
  13. I don't have insomnia. I have nerves. we are leaving in 3 hours. Cletus has been asleep since 9. do not take ambien. it will make you hallucinate about Michael Jackson and the kitten stealing your breath. or maybe that's just me.....
  14. I'm dumbfounded by the decision to withhold the fact that he's a prince. patti doesn't want the women to be swayed by that tidbit. however, it's fine to introduce him as a millionaire.
  15. oh honey! you have to catch up. it's a train wreck!!!
  16. well, the pedicure guy and his date were a match! maybe I really don't know what a good first date is supposed to be like. lol
  17. I love it when a match gets made. especially if it's with the person Patti picked out from the beginning. sometimes it gets ridiculous though. I'm not wild about the millionaire aspect of the show.....
  18. the episode that's on right now has, what I consider to be, a very strange first date. the millionaire guy took his date to a spa, and is doing her pedicure and facial himself, with guidance from the people that work there. sometimes my girlfriends and I do each others feet, if we're too broke to go for a proper pedicure. and I like it when my husband gives me a foot rub. but I'm just not so sure about having a possible love interest scrubbing the dead skin off my heels on a first date. is it just me? would any of you ladies like to be given a pedicure by your date on a first
  19. I'm dreading mine. we had a leak out in the yard. my bill will surely be doubled. legitimately.
  20. if someone assumes that all thugs, pecker heads, and crack addicts are, um, colored.....(what a crappy word, but I'm trying to prove a point) then it would make sense that that person views this thread as racist. I have issues with convicted criminals getting favorable airtime on the news...making them hometown heroes. regardless of their color. the one shown on the news tonight happened to be African American.
  21. you've made quite the nasty assumption.
  22. seriously though. folk are all pissed of about the couponers clearing the shelves. what would be their argument if it was done by a person without a coupon? i still believe in America. capitalism. buying whatever the crap i want whenever the crap i want it.
