Lets see if things have changed - Election poll
LUMPY replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
We need to reduce spending. I'm tired of being taxed out the wazoo and I don't trust the local government to be a good steward of our tax money. Sure, it's only a small amount, but we need to clean house in this election, and start by voting NO on the splost and all other types of taxes, regardless of what they promise to spend it on. -
I won't vote for Jason for two reasons, 1st, he supported spousal benefits for queers when he was an official in Doraville. I don't. 2nd, I don't live in his post. I would vote against him though.

The one who's job it is to protect and serve the pubic is himself on trial. There should be more accountability for those who abuse their power. http://www.ajc.com/news/gwinnett/former-officer-goes-on-553525.html Dailey, 44, is facing up to 107 years in prison if convicted of four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of battery, four counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony and one count of terroristic threats. Police say Dailey was off duty and wearing civilian clothing when he flew off the handle Feb. 1, 2008, and attacked a female motorist he

Ummmm OK. Why would anyone vote themselves a tax hike so the incompetent crooked local GOVERNMENT officials can line their pockets and can throw money out the window? -

I voted AGAINST renewal of the SPLOST. Why would folks vote themselves a tax hike, just to see our incompetent school officials throw the money out the window? -
Another lousy crooked cop cost the City of Atlanta $20,000

What if it's you who were thrown in jail by a rogue cop? You'd look at it differently. -
Very deserving teen gets punched in the face by police officer

A person is INNOCENT until found guilty in a court of law. A NO BILL means all charges dismissed and there is a big difference in jail and prison. I have never been to prison, so I won't comment on the showers. As far as the $100.000 bond, Cobb Magistrate Judge Vic Reynolds was the magistrate who signed the warrants. The defense attorney (Steve Schuster) is now a superior court judge in Cobb County who successfully ripped apart the police detective's arguments. I don't cry and blame others, but my family and I have been screwed royally by the police and I don't trust them. I get a kick out o -

Just wait till Barney Fife is knocking on your door with some papers and it's your life being ripped apart. We'll see what tune you sing then. Could you post bail on a $100,000 bond? And then wait for months to go to court only to have the grand jury issue a NO BILL. How many families are torn apart because of errors or laziness on the part of the po-po? People stand by and see injustice, yet remain silent. I won't remain silent. I think the police have way too much authority and they abuse that authority. They should be held accountable for their actions, but sadly, most folks turn a blind -

A suspect does have the right to remain silent. The cops always say they'll "go easy" on you if you talk. That's pure hogwash. To anyone who is ever questioned by the police, NEVER talk unless you have a lawyer present. The cops will railroad you. and yes.... I've had run ins with the law, spent time in the big house and even enjoyed all that good cooking they offer. The investigator threatened a 20 year sentence for aggravated assault, but when it went to the grand jury, a NO BILL to the aggravated assault charges was sent back. You could tell the cop was so pissed. Sure the lawyer cost ou -

I side with the girls too. If you went around punching all mouthy people in the face, there are some cops on this board who'd be missing some more of their tobacco stained teeth. The po-po gets off on stoking people up and then hauling them to jail acting like they are serving and protecting the community. -

Every local police department has a "Tackleberry" who thinks they are judge, jury and executioner. The bottom line is TAXPAYERS will foot the bill for this officer punching the jaywalker in the face. It amazes me how many people freely give away their rights to the government and won't stand up for themselves. When the cop is sued in federal court for civil rights violations, he'll think again before punching a jaywalker. -

The officer should be fired. It is NEVER appropriate for a police officer to assault a suspect. Handcuff the gal and put her in jail. The JUDGE is the one who punishes, not the cop. The gal will get a good lawyer and win a jackpot from the taxpayers. Remember Rodney King? The police internal affairs division actually justified each and every punch Rodney King took. Only after media outrage and riots in the streets did the cops in question be brought to justice for their assaults and attempted murder of Rodney King. I have NO REGARD for the police. Most of them think they are above the very -
Beverly's past association with Jerry Shearin is reason enough for me to vote for her opponent. It looks like my support goes to Mr. Todd Pownall.

I suppose we'll get soaked, but I'm thrilled my son is graduating. Congrats on a job well done!

Why would anyone stoop that low? It's almost like the voters don't have much to choose from in this particular race.

I won't be voting for Beverly Cochran.
