Thanks for that insight. I think I'll try to take it apart this weekend and see what I can see. It absolutely is a Maytag, their Admiral line. It's only seven years old. How would the motor pull too much current? I don't understand how that's possible. Thanks for the help. It's never inappropriate. I'm going to keep that in mind. Problem is my dryer works just fine.

It came out really fast, like normal. I'm not really sure what the issue is. If you can picture the washer upside down there are three pulleys. The big one in the center for the tub (looks kind of like a fly wheel), then there is one in the right rear corner and one in the right front corner. The one towards the back of the washer is where I think the problem is. That's where the sound is coming from. And yes, sometimes they are.

Yes Bwitchy recommended my wet/dry shop vac and I was thinking that until it decided to start again and I was able to spin all the water out.

I'm all about fixing stuff myself. If I can get a tub bearing for that I'd do it. However, what if it's not the tub bearing, just like it wasn't the belt.

But I might like to be stared out by the creepy guy. It adds to the sense of adventure.

The belt is working fine. Apparently the motor is still in the process of dying. I went back in there since it's been a couple of hours and pulled the knob. The washer went back to agitating. So I stopped it, turned it to spin and slung all the water out. So at least that's done. Now I'll just take a bath tub full of towels to the laundromat tomorrow. I just assumed it was the belt the first time because it's making what at first sounds like a really big baseball card stuck in the spokes of a really big bike tire. Then it gets faster and faster on the spin cycle. The other day when I assu

Thanks doll. Thankfully I'm only about 15 minutes from a pretty nice laundromat (if there is such a thing). But it's clean and well lit and is always staffed so I don't really worry. I'll have to load up the wet towels and take them down tomorrow. In the meantime I guess I'm going to go start bailing water out of the washer.

I was thinking if I took it up there it might save me the $45 service call fee. I figure if they don't have to come out here and since I drive by there every day, what's the difference if I take it or they come here? Hopefully $45. Plus they might be able to recycle the parts if it's truly dead or beyond cost effective to repair. I'm not as dumb as I seem.

UGH...I have a washer full of wet towels...the same wet towels that sat in the tub for three days and now stink to high heaven...this is a nightmare.

So I thought it was the belt on my washer that was bad. I went to Pate's this morning and bought one, I put it on tonight and did one and a half loads of laundry. Does anyone know how to drain a full washer? Yep, it died completely mid wash. Now I have no clue how to get the water out so I can either take it to Pate's or haul it off and buy another one. Does anyone have a cheap washer?

I posted over the weekend looking for a washing machine belt. Everyone in my thread recommended Pate's in Dallas. I stopped by there this morning on my way to work and they had what I needed and it only cost me $20. I love having a local place to shop. I'll remember them from now on. The lady there could not have been any nicer. I arrived early just before she did and she didn't even get herself settled before she helped me. That's great service folks. If you need appliance parts definitely check them out on W. Memorial behind the car wash.

how do you find out about a abandoned house?

Call the marshal and ask that the owner be cited. -
The poles were up this morning when came into the office about 9:30. It was ridiculous to not allow a left turn there. I can't believe the store was allowed to locate there. It would have been better if it were a little farther South on Goldmine with an entrance on Golden South Parkway.

I just sent you what I discovered from the current tax records. Including owners name and tax billing address (which is different than the subject property). If you go to the deed room at the courthouse all you'll need is the information you have (address) and the info I just sent you. If there's been an update that just hasn't made it to the website yet, it will be there. My guess is the property is bank owned but with the back log some banks aren't getting them listed quickly. -
