  1. There isn't any outrage because the police aren't doing the shooting. It's like shooting like so that's OK it seems. It's similar to a person saying something bad about their husband/wife/child/dad/mom and that's OK, but no one else better do it. Except the difference is the murdering part. .
  2. Weeeell, now my youngest daughter is in the hospital too. She was having a bought with kidney stones and now has such a severe kidney infection, she's been admitted. I was up most of the night getting her situated and waiting on info so I'm a pretty tired gal. I was going to visit my step dad again today, but I think now we're staying closer to home with our sick kid. SD will have to wait til tomorrow since he's at Atlanta Medical Ctr., it's just too far to go today.
  3. I'll pray that the news continues to be good!!!!
  4. We just got home after our visit and he didn't even know we were there. He looks awful, beat up, cut, bruised and swollen. It's so hard to see someone you love in that condition not knowing if they can hear you or if they know that you're there. But I know we were there and that's all I can control. Even though the day wasn't long, it was emotionally exhausting. It's good that I have an ulcer because I can't drink. I think if I could, I'd probably be tipping a bottle about now.
  5. I agree 100% with you. How a person grows up can and does influence their adult life, but ultimately, you know right from wrong. You grow up poor and disadvantaged and somehow that's a pass to grow up a rapist and a murderer? What a HUGE. GIANT load of BS!!! 'I was molested, so I became a molester'. PAAAALEASE! It makes me sick when people make excuses for their criminal behavior. WAAAABY WOO!! There are no passes, you do the crime, you're the criminal.
  6. Who do you think these same people are going to call when someone is assaulting them, breaking into their home or harming a loved one? I'd bet the shoe would be on the other foot in those circumstances. Would force be OK then? How hypocritical can a person be? Or if their son, daughter, husband or friend was an officer, would they feel differently then if a thug was assaulting them? Funny how your perspective will change when it's you and yours.
  7. Yes, they said he knew nothing about the robbery and was simply telling them not to walk in the street. She said just the opposite. That was an 'uh oh' moment for sure. Yes it does. I'd like to know that too because if they don't apply or aren't qualified, you're supposed to hire them anyway because they are black and prove you're not a racist? CRAZYNESS!
  8. This is such a shame because I've never heard anything bad about Judge Osborne, but this is what's going to be remembered. I hope for his sake and Paulding countys sake that nothing comes of this investigation and that he can rest easy knowing that he was a good judge for all those many years.
  9. I didn't say that I didn't believe her, but sometimes you have to know when to keep your mouth closed. IMO, she didn't help his cause at all. If she had wanted to support him, fine, call in and say, 'he's a great officer and loves his job, he's never had any issues on the force, he did what he thought he needed to do', etc. But to get on the radio and relay what he said happened didn't help anyone. If she had have SEEN the altercation and the shooting, that's a different story. But you know yourself, his opponents will say that she was just backing him up and had no more facts than anyone els
  10. Once again, thank you all for the support. I'm meeting Hubby at the hospital as we speak and have no idea what to expect when we get inside. His wife is here and while I know this is neither the time or place, I'm so angry that she didn't call me or at least have SOMEONE, ANYONE call. But that's for another day, our energy needs to be focused on his recovery. I think I'm going to puke.
  11. YEEEEA, I heard her too and I agree. Granted, Officer Wilson needed a friend at that point, but her hearsay, even with it being on Wilsons side, wasn't any more credible than the so called 'eyewitnesses'.
  12. I heard that Bass Pro SHop was coming way before I heard about Cabelas and now Cabelas is opening and where did Bass go? A funny side note about Cabelas. I've heard about this catalog all my life because a close uncle was an avid hunter and I knew what it was. When Hubby started shooting 8 or so years ago and he was looking for a spoting scope, I told him to look at Cabelas, 'How do you know about Cabelas'? I impressed him a little that day. HAHA!
  13. I know, how do you survive such saddness and grief.
  14. I called to tell my step dad happy birthday at 9:00 and got no answer. His wife called back around 9:15 and told me that he'd been in a horrible car accident on Saturday and was in ICU at Atlanta Medical Center. This isn't a person I have fleeting relationship with, I talk to him twice a week at least and no one bothered to call me. I'm so upset. He has 8 broken ribs, a broken sternum, a collapsed lung and other internal injuries. This man has been my dad since I was 11 years old and I was worried enough because he's having a lobectomy on his lung on Sept. 5 because of a spot they think could
  15. I did see something pretty cool on the news this afternoon. They had footage of the mayhem going on and people acting crazy and there were young men, many of them looking a little rough aroung the edges, protecting the very businesses that their peers were trying to loot and destroy. They were on the sidewalks actually blocking the street from the store fronts with their bodies just trying to keep these businesses in tact. I applaud these young men regardless of their color, they were at least trying to do the something right in an attempt to salvage what's left of their neighborhood.
  16. I saw it on WSB at six oclock. If you google WSBTV.com, it should come up.
  17. The census in 2010 show the demographics as just over 29% white and 67% black with the rest a mix of several races. If the numbers are so disproportionate, wouldn't it make sense that more blacks are arrested more since they out number whites more than two to one? It doesn't mean racism is afoot, it just means that there are more black people to arrest because that's the largest population that lives there.
