Thank you! It would seem that some think a patriotic citizen is one who fights the system. Hubby and I have had several interesting conversations about the Constitution and the men who wrote it. Does anyone believe for a single minute that the authors of that great document could have possibly imagined the threats that we face every day? I caught the tail end of it, but didn't pay much attention to it. That would never happen around here. Not because anyone is addicted to any kind of electronics, especially not 3rd grader, but my cell phone is my form of communication with everyone. I've only cooked 1 turkey in my entire life. I've been wanting to try my sisters MIL's recipe, but have always been afraid to. My sister swore by it, but neither of us trusted it. For as long as I can remember, she would heat the oven to 500, put the turkey in after if was preheated, cook for 1 hour, turn the stove off and leave the door closed until it was cool, about 5 hours later, no basting or anything. Sometimes the strain on that glue becomes too much to hold any longer. It sucks, I know. But GEEEZ, what are we supposed to do? When is enough, enough? I finally realized that my family is just that, Hubby, my kids and grandkids. We have been so fortunate to get great in-laws in my daughters husbands family, I've decided that they are my family too. They don't expect anything from me, we love being around each other, it's calm and fun. I'm choosing that, I hope you can too!

Let me be honest and tell you beyond my previous post, my MIL was KILLING me up until about 2 months ago when I finally told Hubby, 'I'm done'. We're bucking the system this year. Due to MANY issues with MIL, we had decided to go out of town, but those plans changed when my vehicle decided to blow a head gasket. We still didn't want to spend the day with Hubbys family (it's not just me, it's him too. I'm NOT 'that' DIL) So, we are going to 911 daughters in-laws for lunch and my oldest daughter is having us over at 7:00. I'm sure I'll be cooking 2 or 3 things for each event and thats fine with me. Being a skeptic come from living with one for 28 years!!! Also, I respect your opinion as well, even if we don't agree! I guess my problem goes waaay beyond security searches. There are radical people out there who will go to ANY length to terrorize us. Me too, my doc said to wear platform shoes because they will stretch your foot and I never wear flat shoes. I do have work boots that had rigid supports in them because otherwise I couldn't wear them.

No offense, but your dr. is an idiot! It has nothing to do with being overweight. Hubby is having issues with it as well and he certainly isn't overweight. I'd go somewhere else.

It may effect shopping habits, but not the holiday of Christmas.
