  1. Thats so true. Hubby was beyond devastated because being raised Catholic, he felt guilty about EVERYTHING! What did we do wrong? What could we have done differently? What will people think? It's bad enough to have to deal with the situation, but to have the love of your life question every single decision you ever made as parents, it's even worse. Finally, one day the same old question cropped up, 'What will people think'? I must have snapped because I told him that the ones who knew us, knew exactly what to think and everyone else could kiss our a$$. Strangely, that jolted him out
  2. I agree, fear is a powerful motivator! And I wasn't addressing your comments specifically, just in general. It's just frustrating and often infuriating that people think a pregnant teen comes from an immoral home and you didn't say that at all. I agree with most of what you said and always respect what you say even if I don't agree.
  3. Me to and when I look at my granddaughter and play with her and see her laughing and running around, I wonder what it would be like without her here and I just can't imagine. I've learned the hard way, more than once to NEVER say NEVER. NEVER going have a dog. Have two. NEVER going to have another baby. Had one at 39. NEVER going have a station wagon. Love 'em. NEVER, EVER gonna have a pregnant teen. Had one. God or whoever, is somewhere making a list of these nevers and laughing. They have a way of coming back and biting you on the behind.
  4. THANK YOU!!! :clapping: And to believe otherwise is extremely shortsighted!!
  5. I'm fine with opinions, but to state point blank, that if you teach you kids morals, this won't be an issue is just wrong. That statement was offensive on so many levels.
  6. Sometimes things are put into perspective for you in a way you never thought possible. When my daughter told me that she was pregnant, we were crushed. Literally. This couldn't happen to our family!!! Well, it did. For three days I was horrible to her and she nor her boyfriend back talked or offered any resistance at all, they KNEW that they had dug a hole for themselves. I was in the kitchen, my daughter was doing homework in the living room and Channel 2 Action News reported that a 16 year old East Paulding High School girl had been killed in a car wreck, someone that my daughter kn
  7. I'm wondering if by having both store fronts filled, if that will help keep them both open? Maybe Mom can go to the dollar store and Dad to the hardware store. Except I'd rather be at the hardware store! I hope they are successful because I'd rather try them first and hopefully I'd not have to go all the way to Hiram to HD for a $3.00 item.
  8. You have some very good points!!! Great post! :clapping:
  9. YOU ARE FLAT OUT WRONG! And it's a mighty long drop from that high horse you're on!
  10. I have alien life living in my house, so this is old news to me!!!
  11. Wow and I thought having a 1 year old son and a new granddaughter was weird!!
  12. I don't think he's going to be around very much longer and thats a real shame. I feel for his kids and parents. How does one get SOOO blind and out of control?
  13. I LOVE trashy romance books. Hubby calls them lady porn!
  14. I'm not sure I'd want to be know as the 'worlds youngest grandmother'. I thought becoming a grandmother at 39 was too young.
  15. I can't imagine flushing $1.5 million per episode down the tubes.
  16. That is so right. It is very small minded to label teen pregnancy to a particular 'type' of person. They come in all shapes, sizes, IQ levels, income, etc.
  17. I completely agree with you and understand that, but $20.00 is a huge difference. Also, most everything we bought there was more expensive and for the convenience that was fine to an extent. I loved Ace and I'm glad that they are reopening, I just think that their inventory needs to better reflect the area in which they are located.
  18. I'm not assuming anything. In Paulding county there isn't a huge market for 'higher scale' grills. I'm glad that the ones that have and did purchase them, were able to do that close to home. My point was, that a lot of their merchandise wasn't geared toward the area that their store was in and that they needed to have a more hardware and home improvement based inventory. I believe that others have said the same thing and I called no one a 'cookie cutter'. And for the record, I can buy any grill I want, wherever I want, but close to home, I need a dryer flange more than I need an expe
  19. Of course, the weekend my 911 daughter isn't dispatching and something happens in our own neighborhood. Dang!!
  20. I seriously doubt that any Ace would let anyone out the door just on their word that they would be back on payday, I don't care how well they know your name. No I haven't and I bet it's great!
  21. Us too, if the price is right. We bought many things there for more then Home Depot, but the one time that really turned me off was when we needed Romex for a new light fixture and the exact same thing, same package and size, at Home Depot was $28.60, at Ace it was $48.99. If it had been $5.00 or $6.00 more, I would have gotten it. But no way was I going to pay more than $20.00 more. It was ridiculous.
  22. I completely agree with you. Here in East Paulding, no one is going to pay the huge price for the 'Big Green Egg' grill. It was crazy. Then we went in needing a flange for a dryer vent and they said that they were going to have to order it and they could have it in 2 days. Thats a basic hardware store inventory, that was their downfall. A lot of their merchandise did not fit the clientele. I'm glad they are reopening and I hope they have rethought their market and are very successful. Once again though, I did love their aisle with all the screws and washers, I could have stayed the
