  1. I agree. Sometimes you get in over your head faster than you can get out of a bad situation. It seems to me that she left on her own and at some point has gotten into trouble. I hope they find her safe and sound very soon.
  2. This is a great post, thank you for the insight. He is the nicest, easy going guy ever and sees only the best in everyone. He was ready to break up with her last week and I was thinking, 'Thank God, FINALLY', but I didn't say that. Then she wrote a note saying that if he needed to have a break from her, all she wanted was HIS happiness. Well, he said that 'touched his heart because she was only thinking of him'. No break up. Me, I saw it as a giant manipulation to get him to come running back.......guess what happened? He went running back. Daaaamn, here we go again.
  3. Yep and shes been 3 times in 3 years. But, shes been doing great since May and finally realized how badly she had screwed everyone and everything up. That is obviously the key. Thankfully!
  4. No, it's not, but was it abandoned or just parked somewhere? With all the conflicting info about this, one has to ask the question. I hope to Heaven that she is OK. As you know, I am as well..........we have to hold strong because I think we're the only two holdouts left!!!!!!!
  5. We were infuriated, but my MIL was really, really angry that we had interfered in her business, it was a bad few weeks.
  6. The second my MIL was in rehab, Hubby and I have power of attorney and looked over her bank account because she was always complaining of having no money. We found that she was paying 3 companies to supply monthly credit reports to the tune of $180 a month. She was sending every charity that sent her some free thing in the mail upwards of $25.00 a month for at least 6 different things. So on and so forth and I know she was targeted because of her age. We cut almost $500 out of her monthly expenses, I wish every elderly person had someone to look out for them, but I know so many of them don'
  7. Everything you said is right on! He feels guilty about EVERYTHING, being raised Catholic certainly hasn't helped on that issue. I'm not sure he knows any better. I did ask him yesterday if he really wanted to jump from the frying pan into the fire? He said no, but he hasn't experienced a caring, loving, fulfilling relationship where your spouse is thoughtful and not demanding. I'm going to konk him on the nog the next time I see him! That drives me insane!!!!
  8. I think thats where this is headed. HELLO...open your eyes!!!
  9. I agree with everything you said. 4th grader has NEVER exhibited any behavior at school that would require being paddled. However, if the situation ever arose and he did do something so egregious and needed it, they had best call me first. The scale of what a principal thinks is acceptable is so broad, that a parent should be there to witness the punishment. Not a popular sentiment I'm sure and you bet your behind that I'm one of those parents that is in the group of,'you'd better not hit my kid'. I can beat him up and down the street for bad behavior all day long if I want to and I would i
  10. Us too, it was accepted about 10 minutes after I submitted it.
  11. We have used TaxAct Online for the past 5 years and haven't had any problems at all. I did ours today, it took about 45 minutes and it walks you through step by step. Our Federal return has already been accepted.
  12. My letter says nothing about keeping it as a free gift. It plainly states that if I want to keep it, that I need to send $12.95, a one time reduced price and if I don't want it, the 6 steps from taking it out of the DVD case, putting it a certain way in the envelope, so on and so forth. I haven't been to anything called Women of Faith, so I have no idea why I got it.
  13. I think what bothered so much besides the topic of the material is that there are literally 6 steps involved in returning it. Also, I wonder how many people will send money, not knowing any better?
  14. AAHHHH, but you lightened the mood with that last line!! Yes, Hubby knows this person, it's his brother. I LOVE him, but good gracious, yesterday I just wanted to say, '______, I love you and I want you to be happy, but you're an idiot to put up with this sh&t'! But neither of us seem to have the heart to do it. BIL is just out of a 29 year marriage, with at least the last 12 years being HORRIBLE. We were in complete agreement and supported him when he made the decision to get divorced. But I don't think he's got the hang of dating again yet. I see is hissy fits and manipulatio
  15. Ironically, with one of the recent topics on here fresh in my mind, it's called 'Lessons in Faith', Powerful Christian Insights, Jesus and His Times. It was sent through the postal service.
