  1. These are all great points. Why is religion the be all, end all in this discussion? Everyone isn't religious and even if they are, there are 1000 different ones. So, everyone on the planet is supposed to conform to what 'Christians' believe in the Bible just because they said so? I'm know that there are many gay people who are also Christian, is being a Christian such an exclusive club that you can't be both? The stone throwing doesn't seem to be coming from the gay community, but from the upstanding Christian one.
  2. I do believe that people think that, but it's up to you as to which wagon you jump on, therefore, making you responsible.
  3. I don't believer that all people are anti-gay for religious reasons, I think so many are biased because their neighbor is or because they are afraid of something they can't and won't understand. It's much easier to jump on a bandwagon than to drive it yourself.
  4. Me neither. I only have 1 10 year old boy and it's my sole job in life at this point to make sure he gets to adulthood safe and sound. The naysayers be damned!
  5. It's always been interesting to me that people will fight so hard against something that has nothing to do with them. Why, as a heterosexual, married woman, would I be threatened or somehow offended if gay people were getting married? How would that possibly affect me, my family or relationship? I don't care what kind of car they drive, or what they choose to have for dinner, why would I care who they fall in love with and want to spend the rest of their lives with? Those who continue to rail against it seem suspect to me, at best. Why do you care, are you not confident to come out of tha
  6. That is why I don't let 4th grader go anywhere with anyone but me, Hubby, his sisters and brother-in-laws, because they know the consequences if something happens to him if they aren't paying attention......added to the fact that I trust them. Sometimes even if you tell people to 'watch them at all times', they may not. We were at The Raccoon Creek Bluegrass Festival and a little kid had palled around with 4th grader for at least 2 hours and we never saw any kind of adult looking out for him. About 9:45 when we were ready to leave, Hubby insisted to the child that we needed to find his p
  7. Thats really cool. There is an app for an Iphone, which I do not have, where you can put in the SKU of an item and find where is cheaper in your city. Small businesses hate it according to Clark Howard, but I want the best price for the same thing.
  8. I S-W-E-A-R we are the same person!!!!!! I know for a fact that the store is gigantic and the toys are on one side and the groceries are on the other. Thats more than a few feet. Unless the news got it wrong, but they said Mom was getting groceries and the child was in the toy dept. But obviously she wasn't within eyesight or he couldn't have grabbed her without Mom knowing it.....I wouldn't think so anyway.
  9. That was horrible, but why on earth was the mother buying groceries while her 7 year old was in toys alone? That is exactly why 4th grader is NEVER out of my sight. The little girl did the right thing and saved herself and I am SOOOO happy about that.
  10. IF she was stranded, why didn't she call her parents when she realized that? So, she just wandered around in the streets and was then kidnapped and held hostage? For what exactly? This is the biggest load of hooie I've heard in a while. She obviously needs help and I hope she gets it, I'm also glad she was found safe. And regardless of what her parents say, she was never missing, she was running. Not the same thing.
  11. If the info is correct and shes alive, thank HEAVEN. But there is SOOOO much to this story that we will never know. And to those who have said that it's not 'our' business, her family made it 'our' business with all the FB posts, cryptic info, news reports, etc. If they had have wanted to keep her running away a private, family matter, then they should have kept it that way.
  12. Then is must be in Dallas because she said that the Dallas sign ordinance prevented them from putting up a sign. If they are really in Hiram, then why would they have to follow Dallas rules?
  13. So the CVS, West Metro Meats and Brown Foods don't know where they are located, Dallas or Hiram? I don't believe that, if the address says 'Dallas' how can it not be?
  14. Brown Foods and West Metro are also a Dallas addresses. I wonder how the liquor store is Hiram?
  15. You just let the cat out of the bag and now there may not be ANY left for you!
  16. According to the CVS web site, it's Dallas too. Store # 5622 495 CHARLES HARDY PKWY, DALLAS, GA 30157 Phone: 770-445-2128 No, I was IN CVS getting an RX filled, it's right by the pharmacy, in Dallas. Nope, CVS is listed as Dallas. Maybe it's because it's on the other side of the street. What city is Martins listed as? Nope, CVS is listed as Dallas. Maybe it's because it's on the other side of the street. Martins is also listed as Hiram, I guess Business 6 may be the line.
  17. It sounds to me like the car at fault and maybe the van had no time to react, been there, done that. Why would it be assumed that he wasn't paying attention? When you turn left across traffic, it is your responsibility to pay attention and not turn in front of someone.
  18. It's funny that you should mention that because I was in CVS in Dallas yesterday and one of the women working in tne new Minute Clinic was concerned because the corporate Minute Clinic people and CVS people were coming for a visit to try and figure out why they weren't more busy than they were. She said, 'If the city of Dallas would allow us to put a sign out, I think we'd be OK, but no one knows we're here'. I know I didn't know until yesterday. It seems a little short sighted of a city to prevent a business from advertising with a sign to get their name out there and continue to bring in v
  19. I'm so glad that you are in a much better place now. Life is too darn short to be unhappy for any length of time.
  20. YEE HAW! My wheels are spinning now!!!!! Nope, those would never get me to the FB dark side. Thin Mints....maybe!
  21. Yes it does and neither could I.
  22. I am thankful everyday that I have so many who love and care about me. I have been sick for almost an entire month, lots of dr's appts, blood work, unexplained weight loss, all kinds of things going wrong and it was making me feel worse because everyone around me was getting more and more worried everyday. But alas, it has turned out to be an ulcer and we are resting easier now, even though I still don't feel good. My family rocks even if they do make me crazy sometimes!
  23. Good info, thank you! Thats exactly it. Hubby even sees it and he's not always the most perceptive guy on the block. I'm famous for saying 'mark my words' and then 6 months later saying 'what'd I tell you' and I'm usually NEVER wrong. But.........who listens to me!?
  24. No one went into the house for 4 years and no one missed this poor guy? SERIOUSLY?!? WOW, that is sad. I can be gone 10 minutes too long at the store and people are looking for me.
  25. That is correct, not 5:30-5:30. Also, have you done this kind of thing before? The hours and shifts should be the least of your worries, but instead, the very fast paced, demanding working environment. These people get calls that they have to be handled efficiently and effectively, often back to back, non stop. They things they sometimes hear would make a normal person run out screaming, never to go back. This isn't an easy job answering phones and sending a police officer. It takes someone who is very good at multi-tasking, listening and being able to keep a calm demeanor no matter what.
