  1. Other than the weight gain, I loved the Depo. I quit taking it because my weight did not stop going up. This was 6 years ago also. Now I have the Mirena IUD and love it!!!!!

  2. Does anyone know if the shelter takes donations of old bath mats and rugs? I recently redecorated my girls' bathroom and have some bathmats that I will not be using anymore. I just hate to throw them out if they can be used.

  3. We are non-custodial parents of my stepdaughter.

We've had my stepdaughter for weeks in the summer and we still pay the entire amount. It is "out of the kindness of her heart" that my husband's ex gives us some back, IF she wants to. I have another name for her other than "She" but I'll keep it clean here. Both families have two other smaller children and her financial situation is they can afford for her to stay home, but I HAVE to have two jobs as well as my husband just for us to be able to pay our bills. She still has her hand out if my stepdaughter stays with us most of the month in the summer. It all just depends on what the divorce settlement says. My husband just wanted it over with when they finished their settlement. Well you see hindsight really is 20/20. Our mortgage is less than a thousand dollars so we are not house-poor either. My husband just got ripped a new one in that deal.

BEFORE any of you SAHMs come at me with the "We have to sacrifice for me to stay at home bit." There is NO sacrifice going on here. Her husband makes A TON of money. She has no legally marketable skills to be able to even pay her daycare bill, and I'm sure all of you are NOT like that.

Edited to add we are non-custodial.

Okay, I have re-read this thread numerous times. First, I would like to say that my ex does still pay even when my daughter goes to visit with her dad. It is done through the court system so if he doesn't pay, he will be charged with failure to pay. However, my daughter does not stay with him for extended periods of time since he lives local. I can't say on the out-of-state situtations since I do not have one.

Second, Lollipop, (and please don't take this the wrong way). I can understand your frustration, but I sense a bit of hostility towards the ex wife because she can stay home with her kids. I am not trying to take her defense, but if her new husband makes enough money for her to stay home, then that is really her business. What her husband makes has nothing to do with her and your husband's divorce agreement. Your husband is the one who signed the divorce papers agreeing to pay the ex a certain amount of money, if he just hurried it up to "get it over with" that is his fault for agreeing with the settlement. With my ex, his new wife stays home with her kids and does not work. He is struggling to make his child support payments every month. I look at like this, he agreed to a set payment amount when we got divorced. The child support is for MY CHILD. My ex has gone out and racked up a bunch of debt since our divorce (reason he can't make child support all the time), that is not my fault and he created that knowing he has an obligation every month to his child to pay. My ex's new wife does not agree with the amount he is supposed to pay me every month. She feels it is too much. I did tell her that it was based upon his salary at the time and it is (at that time) based on the lower end of the scale. Like I said, I am not trying to be mean.

  4. I agree with those who said that the best snake is a dead one. I could not agree with you more.

Hmmmm, maybe we should have a poll to see how many people agree with me about the dead snake thing. :p

  5. Although I do wish that uniforms were required in school I don't think it would take the pressure off to have the "name brand" cloths that only the "popular" or "wealthy" kids wear.

If you created the standard kahaki pants and golf style shirt you would still have those that purchased them at Wal-Mart and those that purchased them at Abercrombie.

Even with all that said I am still in favor of the uniforms. When you and I go to work we are expected to dress to a certain standard. Like I tell my kids all the time their job is to go to school- they should be expected to dress to a certain standard.

Keep a check on what Polk County is doing now. There school board is considering uniforms for next year!

I agree with you that even with uniforms, the kids will know the difference whether it is Wal-Mart or A & F. The kids will find something to tease others with.

  6. IMO, I just don't like to ski or tube in Allatoona. I've always felt more comfortable at Lake Wedowee.

That is where we always go. Last week, I was the only person out there on the water (in the location I was at) besides 1 guy fishing.

  7. :o August?

She was huge in a picture on the net last week.

I think she was a lot closer than August, surely.

    I mean ,huge.....

Don't forget, Julia Roberts told the press a later due date so that it would throw them off and to have a much less stressful delivery. So more than likely, Angelina did the same thing.

  8. Born in Battle Creek ,Michigan, then Homestead Fla, now here so I have seen from north to way to far south and now I am happy.. :D

and no I wasn't born in two places..

My dad is from Battle Creek, MI

Born in Waukesha, WI. Lived in Racine, WI until I was 9. Been here in GA ever since, except for a brief stint in LA (lower Alabama).

  9. A blonde was out riding one day in her convertible. She came upon a field and saw another blonde sitting in a row boat in the middle of the field. The blonde gets out of her car and asks "what are you doing?" The other blonde said "I am rowing my boat" The first blonde says "you better stop doing that you are going to give us blondes a bad name". The second blonde says "why don't you come out here and make me stop". The first blonde replies "I can't, I don't know how to swim".....

  10. I read the story completely before I voted. I understand what the little league is saying, but I don't feel the child should be punished for the actions of the parent. If the mom knew a couple of days ahead of time that she could not work the stand, she might could have traded days with another parent.

  11. Oh my god, I love FRIENDS!!!!!!!!! I have all the episodes on DVD. I swear I live with Chandler's twin.......could he BE anymore like him with the lame jokes

One of my favorite episodes is "The One Where Everybody Finds Out" with Chandler and Phoebe trying to "come on" to one another.

  12. Oops looks like I hit a nerve. I only called you matts pig to save time since you are not worth wasting any on. However I can understand why the pig word guys close to home from looking at thour profile picture. Looks as if either your wide angled lens added a few lbs or you could stand to drop a few dress sizes. Just being honest here. As far as anyone kissing my rear because I'm a cop, I have not noticed!!!

Your statement is totally un-called for!!!!!!!
