  1. That's the nature of super-cell storms. There is warm air in the lower atmosphere colliding with cooler air coming in over it from a "cold front." Warm air rises and mingles with the cooler air and creates "super-cell" storms. That's why you can't really depend on doppler radar when you have these kinds of storms. The condition in the atmosphere with the warm air rising creates a situation where storms are bred. lowrider is correct--I think it will be a long night.
  2. New severe thunderstorm warning for Paulding/Cobb. This is the storm that never ends... Yes it goes on and on my friends...
  3. I use half-and-half, but real cream will do in a storm!
  4. I know...there is much more popping up behind what's already here...I'm thinking 2-3 am too.
  5. That thunder is sooooooooooooooooooooo loooooooooooooooooooong!
  6. Thunder, lightning, and high winds here now in Powder Springs. Still no rain...
  7. Hang on chansky, and be safe!
  8. I heard the Paulding warning was canceled?
  9. Channel 2 reporting that the tornado warning has been CANCELED for Paulding County.
  10. Fox 5 and Channel 2 are covering it... 1 mile wide...YIKES.
  11. I have an interior closet under the stairs, and that's where we'll go. But, like I said, in a really BIG storm like they just had in B'ham, that wouldn't be much help. I'm gonna go with it being more North. And I hope everyone in its path has a basement.
  12. Me too, sugail. I wish I had a basement. My house is on a slab. There's not very many places to hide in an EF4-EF5 without a basement.
  13. I rented a suit that included EVERYTHING including the shoes and a belt from King Tux for my son to wear to my daughter's wedding this last Friday. Tom was so great and so knowledgeable and had JUST what we needed on a moment's notice. I will recommend his place at every chance I get. He was GREAT! And, they are commerce members here. Email him and see if he can help. He saved us!

    WOAH!

I live in Powder Springs. Not far from Florence Road and 278. A really intense storm just moved through here! The rain was really heavy and coming down in circles! And the lightning was unbelievable! Does anyone else live over this way and just see all that? My dogs were FREAKING! Weather Channel issued a severe thunderstorm warning as all of that was going on. I really don't like it much when weather gets scary!!
  19. Charles and Diana married less than a year before I married my daughter's father. I watched it. And, I am related to Diana through the years. My daughter's wedding was this last Friday. It's sentimental for me, and I want to see their to-do's and all. I want to see it, but mostly because of the connection with me getting married around the time his parents married and my daughter getting married just a week before William marries. But I'll likely DVR it--I have a busy day on Friday. In other news, my daughter called me this evening from Hawaii to tell me she and her husband went sn
