  3. Was that really necessary? Hope you find your dog soon Pubby.
  4. From what I heard on the news today, they did have guns on them by security men and were forced to pay some money. Not excusing them being drunk and vandalizing the place, but they did some what tell the truth. If you have a gun on you and are forced to pay money, that is robbery. One of the swimmers is going to pay 11K to some charity.
  5. And miss their kids growing up............Well at least when they are AD....Reservists are mainly home...............I cant believe he is on here making comments about Servicemembers serving 20+ years and getting a pension. Reservists gotta wait till they are 60 and get a lot less money. Does that make you happy Cain?
  6. What double dipping? You just sound jealous.........All that his pension is doing is paying our FED taxes....We don't see any of it..............If you look at it that way.
  7. Guess times have changed because he would be thrown out now a days. It is hard to get into the military and even harder to stay in for 20+ years. Most members who are able to stay in do it for the pension. It is nice getting 40K plus a year starting at 38 years old.
  8. Good grief you really can take a joke can you? They must need some help though if they have the AF and Navy on their bases. LOL Since most of your time was Reserves no way are you getting the kind of $$$$$ a true 20 year AD serviceman did.
  9. Why do they care how much goes into SS? It's not like you ever stop paying FED taxes.
  10. Fox are you still unemployed? The Navy is looking to hire Chiefs and Captains. The Army has Intel people? I seriously thought the AF and Navy did it for them......
  11. That isn't the same as being a Reservist and you know it. Are you getting your pension yet? That is the difference between Reserves and AD. My husbands's started as soon as he retired 3 years ago. I also get annoyed when people say they are Retired Military when they only served a few years.
  12. My husband is an A&P mechanic and he stopped paying SS taxes a couple of months ago. What does that tell you? BUT his GI bill is waiting if he wants to go back to school.
  13. "The Post 9/11 GI Bill is therefore a significant asset that can potentially benefit either spouse or their children. Unlike leave pay and retirement pay, however, Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits may not be treated as marital property, or the asset of a marital estate, subject to division in a divorce or other civil proceeding. See 38 U.S.C. § 3020(f)(3). In other words, a military spouse cannot ask the court to award a service member’s Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits as an asset in a divorce. The Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits simply cannot be included in equitable distribution."
  14. I do have a problem with people that make it look like they did 25 years AD in the military when it was far less than that. Just tell the truth and not try to make yourself look better. My DH did way more time than you ever did. 21 years AD and 4 years Reserves, I never try to hide that fact. The courts would never make the AD duty member transfer over his 911 GI bill to an ex wife. NEVER! That is his/her decision to make. Not that many women bother to join the military, and I did. I got out to have children thus the reason I didn't make a career of it. Out of DH's 25 years in the military, I
  15. It doesn't affect those with kids. "Since January, 3,600 people in Cobb, Gwinnett and Hall counties have lost their food stamps because of the new rule that requires able-bodied, childless adults to work in order to receive the benefit."
  16. Notice Fulton and DeKalb county are missing.
  17. Interesting, just saw this on Facebook.
  18. It was a black cop that did the shooting. CNN isn't even talking about it anymore. They are only interested when it is a white cop for some reason.
  19. Don't Y'alls kids use Hope? The biggest college expense to me right now is paying for my son's apartment. Too bad he cant just live at home. Cant believe he is already starting his JR year today.
