I didn't feel a thing. In Maryland we had a hurricane and earthquake all in one week. Now that was a earthquake, I was at work and thought a plane had hit the building. My office was above the hanger. I was in TX last week, what is up with one day being 30 for a high and then a few days later it was almost 70? Wait wait, that sounds like GA weather LOL

The letter Coweta sent home 4 FEB said they have a 180 day school calendar. So they wouldn't make up any days for missing school. But then they added before the latest ice storm. Thank you for your patience as we have reviewed our options concerning this matter. Hopefully, we will not encounter any additional inclement weather during the remainder of the school year. Well that didn't take long LOL

If it is like Maryland, then no they won't have to make them up.

Every job I have ever had....They had an Inclement weather policy, that stated if you didn't feel safe coming into work, that is your call to make. You can either take a vacation day or stay home with no pay. This was in VA, GA and MD. If they closed the base, depending on your contract you still got paid without having to use a vacation day.

In Coweta if they go over so many days they will just add 10-15 minutes to some school days. In Maryland when they were out of school for toooo many days the Governor called it a State of Emergency and the days were excused and not made up.

I did get mail yesterday but not on Wednesday.

I think common sense comes into play here. Keep up with the weather and make your own call. Don't go into work and keep your kids home. The GOVT is not my babysitter. This storm had no effect on my life. I had food in my house, hubby was off work those days anyway thank goodness and the kids were not in school.
