  1. I couldn't resist, actually. And, no, I've never been to Switzerland. I've been within 100 kilometers, but never in the nation. Oftentimes, jocularity doesn't present well in typed form.
  2. Except no retirement benefits and charges will be filed.
  3. Just like the person who was killed. Didn't get the chance to have a day in court.
  4. Love Switzerland! Part of the fun is doing the football tours while there. Have you ever done those? There is some wonderful play in some excellent arenas there!
  5. Next time you see someone walking outside the pedestrian crossing, hit the petrol peddle. It was the jay walkers' fault.
  6. And the Wal Mart agents acted recklessly. A person died from it. Petty theft is not a capital offense.
  7. I'm the same way. I plan well in advance. I've already planned holiday to Munich in May and a two week stay in Scotland in July. But the brief holiday week I'm trying to plan for Portland, OR, next November is driving my husband daft. He wants to wait and I can't do that; The need is to plan early for the winery tours, the Allison Hotel, the spa treatments, and the fine restaurants. While nothing serious, he is making me batty with his nonchalance.
  8. For Doomsday December 2012? Notice the programming. My link
  9. Regardless what transpired, death was not the best interest of justice.
  10. There is something to be said for simplicity. I applaud you.
  11. Were you? This is basic stuff here. Are you sure you want to hold this position?
  12. That's sounds like so much fun! My lap top will let me work at a distance but only for so long. Sadly, every holiday must end, eventually.
  13. Were you there? Are you a witness? You are acting as judge and jury without evening giving the person who died the right to a trial. Sure, what is speculated here is possibly what happened and if it is the criminal was wrong in every regard and the employees acted in self defense But if not, many here are rushing to judgement without knowing all the facts. Regardless what transpired, death was not the best interest of justice.
  14. I will disagree with you on this one. We'll see in a few weeks but I am very willing to wager this will result in criminal charges against the Wal Mart agents. or at least one of them. Every man is right is in own eyes.
  15. Oooooh! February is a wonderful time to go on holiday! Last year my husband and I went to Bermuda for a brief, spur of the moment holiday and had so much fun! I agree with you. Sun. Warm. February. Lots of holiday alcohol, too!
  16. How anyone can say this is not manslaughter is beyond my comprehension. And whatever the agents of the corporation did, it was wrong. The security guard has been fired. The employees are on paid leave. It won't be good. And the American Old West was lawless where petty crimes were met with inhumane "justice."
  17. And we will see how the law handles this case and which of us is right, won't we. Care to place a small wager on this? I am willing to bet 3 months salary that the employees will face at a minimum manslaughter charges. Care to wager me on that? Say 70,000$ American? Or, if you prefer, we can bet the Romney, say 10,000$? I can have a certified cheque sent by registered post in 3 days to the local attorney of your choice. Just say the word and the gambit is on.
  18. The community didn't fund EQUAL educational facilities for blacks, having inferior schools. Thus the need for Brown v Board of Education. Let's not forget there was a reason the American president had to force the military and the national guard into Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama. Legal sales were not allowed as the established principle during the 1930s was Prohibition and that was by Constitutional mandate. Stealing was a crime not punishable by death, even in the 1930s. No, it shows how far from reality you are when comparing the Good Old Days to now and saying that a
  19. I have some questions about vacations. My husband says that the people he works with all plan their vacations short term, i.e., 3 months in advance. However, the people I work with plan their vacations at least a year in advance, booking airfare, rental car, hotels, excursions, dinner reservations, etc.. So what is the consensus here?
  20. I just have to go by the other TLC shows I've ever managed to sit through. It is not reality TV as much as it is manipulative entertainment. Just my observation.
  21. Oh, great. Don't bet on it. This is going to be a Redneck Haven Show.
  22. And when that is proven to be a hopeful fallacy, will you come back and admit you were wrong? Because this is not the 1930s when Blacks were not allowed to vote or be educated, there were no liquor sales on Sunday, women were not allowed their equality, there were no environmental regulations, and Nazism and Communism were seen as fully viable alternatives in the US capitalism. Be careful because the Good Old Days were not that good.
  23. Look at the cast of characters in this thread. There is a reason the law says America doesn't kill people for petty crimes. Not only does the nation not do it, the people don't do it. If the state had sentenced the guy to death, there would have been outrage. Had the police just shot the guy, there would have been outrage. But because it was the employees being overzealous and the result was the death of someone, a few cheer or excuse it? That attitude is no different than the third world nations' notion of "justice." Again, look at the cast of characters. It is telling. Thankfully, A
