After previous attempts of assassinating the pope, they are more concerned than in past history where attempts were made too. Can't blame them for their fortification - it has been historical (and yes, sometimes they brought it upon them selves but that is history). agree. Huh? Not sure where you were wanting to go with that statement. It was quite easy to get into the Vatican City when I went there - got on the bus and they took us right in. Did a small portion of the city tour (we were very limited on time) and bought a couple of trinkets, then got back on the bus and headed north to Pisa. It was extremely impressive and a very good lasting memory. You do know that they are a county all to themselves? They are a country within a county established hundreds of years ago .....

I thought of something which I believe the family would love for someone to do while they figure things out about they need or not need. They are not wanting to bring too much into the temp house they have, want to wait until they get a more stable environment. Make a donation to the Animal Shelter in their name - food, toys, treats, bedding/towels, etc .... They had some items (cat toys/pipe cleaners/towels/treats) set aside which was going to taken to the shelter. Everything was ruined and can not be taken. All was ruined in the fire & smoke. Thanks for wanting to help out!

You could always make your own activities .... Buy treats and go to the shelter and visit the animals, giving them all treats! Get a movie and make treats to enjoy during the movie. Plan a walk in the park with understanding what the features are -- like Kennesaw MT or in the battlefields or Sweetwater park .... Plan to make your own arts with nature and build in your walks with collection and crafts. Or get something to color and build a project to send home to Mom & Dad. Make treats at your place with a trip to the store to get supplies - Rice Krispies Treats with lots of different op

They are trying to salvage what they can and wash clothes as possible, plus they are picking up an item or two. At this time, they are still trying to figure out where they will be - they are staying at a Friend's House - and what next steps need to be done. My heart has been breaking for Edna & Steve. Many years of volunteering is an understatement. I've been volunteering here 10 years and she has been doing it much longer. She has adopted many and fostered, plus gotten many to rescues and into other adopted families. Maybe check with a hospice care facility and see if they have material for you to read? That is the only thing I can think of ... I'll keep you, your dad and your family in my thoughts ..... (((hugs))) & best wishes to you as you deal with this.
