Cobb County also has major thoroughfares going thru them, less expense to the interstates, Paulding County is a bedroom community and always will be. This county missed the boat when the boom was happening, now all you are doing is trying to grasp the brass ring and waste residents money.

Don't listen to the bs. This will not create jobs, this is a bedroom community and always will be. There is no major route to the interstates for any large manufacturing businesses. I lived near an airport, every time these jets would land you would have to stop your phone conversation so they could fly over, these jets dump fuel when they are landing leaving a black film on the house( good for the lungs and children), a few times pieces of the aircraft fell off just missing houses and parked cars. The only revenue this will generate is in the politicians pockets.

In 2010, 2 years ago The IDA also said that the other businesses that they claim to be coming are not confirmed as of yet. Don't hold your breath on these so called high paying jobs.

Speaking thru experience, the jobs on the web site ( not all ) but most are low paying or less them human working conditions. Went thru dept of labor web site the employer list job and pay as one thing, then when offered the job the pay was for less and the job was of a different nature. Being on layoff I accepted the position, 2 yrs of hell, couldn't wait to find another job or get a layoff. Not all employers are this underhanded but most on Dept of Labor web site and those that go thru agencies I shy away from.

The industrial park in Rome is largely unoccupied. In the state of the present economy I do not think it is wise at this point to build on speculation. Then how about attracting a mall developer to produce sales tax revenue? Sorry I do not think this is a good idea at this time, must of been thought about over a six pack of PBR and a mason jar of moonshine.

Building on speculation is is not the way to go. It seems like little thought was put into this idea. No quick access to I75 or I20, very few small companies ship by rail. What a joke. This is just as good as the 130 acre industrial park. Everything being built on a speculative basis. Rome has a giant industrial park and I was just up there and it's about 90 percent unoccupied. The politicians are a day late and a dollar short. This county is truely ran by a bunch of huckleberries. Just wondering who their friends and relatives are that own these properties. Airport One big farce. The peopleof this county continue to elect the inept to run it.As long as good old boy politics continue Paulding County will be nothing but a hick county.

Heard it will have a boat showroom, that could only mean a Bass Pro Shop or Cabella's. Also heard National Guard offered Paulding County 100grand a month for use of the airport. Local yahoo's said it would be too noisy and said no. I guess when they start making silent aircraft then it may be put to use.

I agree wholeheartedly with your observations. Also there is no fast access to any Interstates to or from Paulding County. The way the county is sturctured now it will never attract any large businesses to advance the county. The Airport is the biggest farce now, someone made a whole lotta money off that one.And was the Taj Mahal on 278 known as the County Seat rely necessary? Granted the county needed new space to take care of it's people, but was this large and mostly useless space really required. I guess at the time the saying let the good times roll was in effect. Harley Davidson is looking to relocate it's manufacturing operations from Wisconsin. What a time for Paulding County to shine. Get rid of useless Airport and offer it to Harley for it's operations. Bring much needed employment to county. I call on all county officials to get off their a##es and bring some needed jobs and pride to this county. WE NEED JOBS
