  1. I left him at the vet for a bath and some bloodwork.

Just got off the phone with the vet. He was not dehydrated, but his liver levels were elevated indicating 'fatty liver.' (Otherwise, his bloodwork was ok.) He said that when a cat goes into starvation mode, it begins to rely on the fat stores. But then it can mobilize the fat faster than the liver can process it resulting in this condition. He said that if he continues to have a good appetite and begins eating again, this will probably correct itself. (He's never had a problem with his appetite, and he did eat a bit last night and this morning.) He's getting an antibiotic just in case because they found more older injuries on him during his bath. I'll pick him up this afternoon and go from there. I'm so happy he's back.

  2. I'm not sure how it's going to go with Buzz and the new guy. He's acting very bitchy just from the smell of Buzz in the bathroom and on me. I hope he calms down. I know Thea will hiss and snort, but that's just what she does. She won't hurt anyone. Baby's just happy as long as her food and bed are intact.

  3. OK, I take back the skinny for him part. He has a lot of fur and probably hanging skin, and a few mats. Otherwise, I can feel just about every crevice in his skull and other bones. But he looks so much better this morning, though still bad. I fed him the canned food last night. He doesn't seem to be drinking water, but the food probably hydrated him a bit. Keep your fingers crossed.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement through all this. It's one of the hardest things I've ever been through. As I was leaving Paulding yesterday, the lady (whose name I do not know but is always so nice to me) told me not to give up. I felt like it a few times, but I couldn't.

  4. Buzz came home! We found him under my husband's shed in the back yard. I coaxed him out with some canned food. He's very skinny (well, for him), and is missing a patch of fur on one of his front legs. I'm taking him to the vet first thing in the morning. I hope he checks out ok. I'm in shock.

  5. Frome someone who has sold them all new and used Honda or Toyota all the way. My Nissans were ok if you need to spend less and get quality but they all 5 had little things that required going back to the dealer within 30 days.

The worst was the jags of the 80's and early 90's and the isuzu trooper with the GM 2.8 v6. I never delivered either one of those without having them come back in the first week.

    No offense, but I won't take a salesman's word.
