  1. I kinda feel like this is an investment. For who, I ask myself? Are trickle down economics finally beginning to work, or is the get rich and stay rich scheme going to remain the master plan?
  2. One question that inters my mind is what will happen to the toll fees when the bonds used to finance construction of the toll road are paid off. Look at the situation with GA 400. For the past 20 years tolls have been applied to pay for bonds used to finance its construction. Truckers and other drivers who use the roadway had been promised that toll collection would end this July. Even though the Georgia 400 is paid off, the state agency in charge of toll roads voted last fall to continue operating the roadway as a toll road for another 10 years.
  3. Exactly, Ib! But, like our own PUBBY says, "perfection alludes us all." Our search for perfection, can sometimes lead to the social mask I have talked about.
  4. Some criminals are judgment proof. That is because some criminals does not have the money to pay a civil judgment. An injured party, who has been victimized by a criminal, is at the mercy of his/her local government, or even the federal government. An injured party certainly has the right to bring a civil tort action against a wrongdoer, who has caused him/her injury during the commission of a criminal act, but civil damages are hard to recover from someone who is judgment proof. The judgment might look good framed and hung on your wall, but that is all it is, just a whatnot. So it i
  5. I like that about you, Pastor! But I think it's pretty obvious, from looking at the picture, and the video, that everyone is not like you are. Some of us ware social masks. Social masks can be in the form of cosmetics, and/or in the form of aesthetics. Being who you are, Pastor, is a good thing. You are who you are.
  6. Getting real is not what we do, much of the time. But, as Plato said: "The life which is unexamined is not worth living." We can't go around pretending that we are not who we are, because it will most definitely catch up with us. Believe me, at 66 years old, a lot of my pretenses have caught up with me. I used to be a very good looking, tall dark and handsome, man. But, it has become much harder for me to look that good. I have to rely, almost totally, on my wonderful character.
  7. I Owe my Soul to the Company Store. Income inequality is unfair and a sign of a broken economy. But did income inequality cause the housing bubble and ensuing financial crash? Did the uber-rich trick workers into inescapable debt instead of giving them raises? I read a fascinating piece yesterday called "The Flaw: Examining the Roots of Economic Malaise." You see, those of us who lost half the equity in our homes and 40% of our 401k values would really like to know what the hell happened. It's been two years, I know, but I'm still a little obsessed. Mostly because nobody ha
  8. Other people do the same thing we do regarding aesthetics and cosmetics. We associate with each other while we ware cosmetics and while we are under the influence of our aesthetic behaviors. I do the same thing that most other people do. Our perceptions, of each other, are manipulated by these artificial make believe ways of being. Why do we try to deaden people's perceptions of ourselves? I think it's because we want to win friends and influence people, like a book I have read on the subject. I was also watching The Doctors, this morning. It's a show that comes on on ch
  9. It seems to me, that balance is important, inthis kind of way. Play is just as important as theatrical necessities. Some people will even make play a dispute (discord). My wife, and I, just loved the bluegrass festival I won a pair of tickets to attend, from P.com a while back. Thank you for that opportunity, PUBBY! Balance is what I like.
  10. Balance is not what American culture is about. Not even human rights, which our soldiers keep fighting and dying for. Unless you call a piece of this pie being in balance all the way around.
  11. I think we should, maybe, have a Bud hunt, and a chase the Margarita bandito.
  12. C C, I am willing to pay for some good entertainment, like about $20 for my part.
  13. What about a BYOB, and pay a fee for entertainment, get together. Maybe our own Subby would sings us a few tunes.
  14. Would I be able to run my fingers through that blond hair, or would that get me into trouble?
  15. Hand to hand combat doesn't seem practical for members of a internet group of typer's, and readers. It seems, to me, that a good guessing game would be much more to everyone's liking.
  16. What about a guessing game for the ones who wants to play. It could be like, "What's My Line?", but would be, "What Character Do I Play, On P.com?"
  17. Were they hosted events? I was think on the lines of a managed outing, maybe at one of the parks around Dallas or Hiram. I want to see a show, also, where PUBBY and LPPT pulls out the toys and entertains everyone.
  18. We used to have them, now and then, WHAM! It was actually representative of the entire membership, and was hosted by PUBBY.
  19. Springtime puts me in the mood of getting out in the open air. It would be a good drive, from over here in Woodstock, but I am coming to the next p.com meet & greet. I want my friends to know who has been causing them so much reality pain. And, in person reality is the best cure for that pain.
  20. the person running your life didn't just start running it without learning how to run it. It would be like jumping into the cock pit of a 747 and start flying the SOB without knowing how. You'v got to know how to run your life before you can effectively run it. You can't even be you if you don't know you. Nobody else can run your life, so you have to be the one who runs it. Failing know yourself well enough to run your own life is like rendering yourself nothing more than the ninety-third sheep from the left in row number 532,847,694! Nonwave-making conformists have a good standing wi
  21. LPPT, You are exactly right. Nobody just knows the things you do. It's learned skills that gave you the understanding you have. The importance of knowledge is not realized as much as it should be. When money becomes more important than keeping our libraries open, and our teachers appreciated, it's a sad day for me to have to live my life in.
  22. Let me mention another of Mark Twain's sayings: "If everybody was satisfied with himself, there would be no heroes." I take that to mean it's not a good idea to just go along with the status quo, in order to maintain peace. Mark Twain was saying, in my opinion, that heroes would not be necessary in an environment that is that peaceful. My question is what are the leaders of a peaceful country doing to maintain peace? The three monkeys who hear no evil see no evil, and speak no evil, may not be very understanding monkeys.
