  1. Exactly, stbarts! People with your kind of common sense mentality are not a dime a dozen. Loretta Lyn's song, "people like you are a dime a dozen," came to mind when you spoke about your speaking up for yourself. If there were more people like you, stbarts, the world would be a better place for us all. We just don't need a bunch of U.S. citizens worth only a dime a dozen.
  2. HDMI is, indeed, the way to go, BL! My TV is 60ft. away from my desktop, and I ordered a 60ft. HDMI cable that puts anything I want to share, with the family, on the big screen. I show home movies, and picture slide shows. I even play YouTube video's on my TV.
  3. Some people try to justify ignoring their own wants, dreams, needs, and visions, with little piles of BS, average piles of BS, and great old big piles of BS. They will tell you to give them a break, when you ask them why they ignore their own wants, dreams, needs, and visions. Well, anybody can tell these people what they want to hear, which is not really telling them anything helpful, but telling them things that are not fun to hear about contains much less BS than they like. Blowing magical smoke at people is like advertising something that makes their tongue start slapping on the r
  4. Was that an answer to the question, Jola? So, you have no idea, about that? What are some of your ideas in other things, then?
  5. Getting what you pay for is more in the attitude than it is in the materials used, and or the services rendered. I got good teeth, with less service rendered. I had to file a couple of places that was making my mouth sore, and after that they worked fine. I did go back for adjustments, which is a service that Affordable Dentures provides free of charge on a new set of dentures, but I found it much easier to file my own teeth. To me it was like knowing where I itched, and my hands just knew where to scratch much better than the dental service people at Affordable Dentures. A common sen
  6. I am well satisfied with them, sugarpie! I've been told, by many people, that you get what you pay for. But, I believe that less, and less, as I go down life's road. You might get what you pay for, but, you may be paying for it to the 10th power, or something.
  7. Spunkywman, There's a lot you can do on your own. I used biotene for my dry mouth condition. It's over the counter, and has the directions on the bottle. Trying to maintain a mouth full of teeth where you suspect more problems with then down the road, is costly as heck, to say the least. It seems to me that with the problems you have you may spend $17,000, now, and before you recover from spending that much money you will have to spend more money to save losing teeth. I got tired of paying for, fillings, root canals, bridges, and caps, which cost a lot of money. I paid my $38
  8. Ole's accident. "Ole's car was hit by a truck in an accident. In court, the trucking company's lawyer was questioning him. Didn't you say, sir, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine' ? asked the lawyer. Ole responded, 'Vell, I'll tell you vat happened. I had yust loaded my favorite mule, Bessie, into da.....' 'I didn't ask for any details', the lawyer interrupted. 'Just answer the question. Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine'? Ole said, 'Vell, I had yust got Bessie into da trailer and I vas driving down da road...' The lawyer interrupted again
  9. That is shocking, Sm! I have insurance, so I got my teeth pulled at my regular dentist. But, I carried the $380 set of dentures with me when I had my teeth pulled. My insurance would not pay anything on my dentures. So, this worked out great for me. Check to see how much Affordable Dentures will charge for each tooth. They don't do cavity work, but they pull teeth. If you need a partial, they can do that, but you will need to go to a regular dentist for cavity work. It's up to you about the $17,000, but I am the type that would not pay that much for my teeth. In my opinion my $38
  10. What have you been sucked into; if you don't have your own mission?
  11. Why would be pay good money for our children to get a college education is there are some things the college just want teach them?
  12. That's fine for you, jenilyn! I just can't see paying more for a few grooves in your teeth to make them look more natural. At Affordable Dentures they charge less for the Premiums, which are exactly like the $1,200 set I saw, felt of, and asked questions about. The Premiums are about $900 at affordable dentures. Paying $520 for someone to cut grooves in a $380 set of teeth is just not going on my credit card.
  13. If I can help one of my friends I will pull my dentures out of my mouth and show them the difference in a $380. set of dentures and a set of Premiums that could cost as much as $1,200. You don't get that kind of service at the dentist's office. So I don't mind asking my friends to help me.
  14. The reason I pay $380 for my dentures is because I did some research. I didn't know anything about dentures until I needed some for myself. I sat down in my dentist's chair, and had him to give me a price for dentures. The price caused me to get up out of his chair and walk out of his office with a shocked look on my face. I started studying this shocking situation. I decided to check out Affordable Dentures. I got up early in the morning to get there, because that was their policy. I sat down in their chair to talk about the $380 set of dentures they were offering. They also had abo
  15. The California state legislature is considering a measure that would force social studies teachers to recognize the contributions to society made by “lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans.” Hiding the truth has been something I have been against for many years. But, perfection has alluded me, in the process. I have had a strong belief against some of the very truths that my family, and friends, had strong belief's against. I have searched my understanding of some of the truths that I like to pretend doesn't exist. I didn't even want to find out that one of my friends m
  16. I am committed to standing up, speaking out, and talking back, because I believe in the value of standing up, speaking out, and talking back. I like to think that I cannot be lead to and sucked into things that are against my belief's. All of us are uniquely equipped for our own missions in this world, and if we fail to realize and commit to finding out what our mission is, we wither in mind, body, and spirit. I stick my neck out, and it gets bruised a little now and then. But, I cannot play the game of life trying not to get bruised, or trying to play it safe. I can't be a winner if
  17. These people can start looking in their own mirrors and know that what is important to them (personally) is not being buried in favor of a "go along to get along" mentality. But, I am wondering if there are more forms of dictatorship lurking in the masses, as I speak.
  18. Cuba Has Been Under Dictatorship for a long time. In 1959 Castro openly declared himself to be against communism stating, "I don't agree with communism. We are democracy. We are against all kinds of dictators... That is why we oppose communism." However, Castro did not declare Cuba a socialist country until May 1961 and himself a Marxist-Leninist until December 1961. Cuba just went from one type of dictatorship to another type. Calling the country a democracy doesn't make it a democracy. I'm going to have the opportunity to see what is meant by the private sector gaining power, r
  19. I think educational TV should be what's on every day. having to watch advertisement and then having to pay to go to college is rediculous. I watch all the educational TV I can find, and there is just not enough. Teaching people how to cook is not educational if the teacher uses things that are not healthy foods in their cooking. Reality about a healthy way to cook, and everything else, is the best TV there is.
  20. I don't remember Spring storms being as frequent, and/or severe, when I was growing up, around here, LR! I may just not have paid as much attention to them, though! It seems that I pay more attention to things like storms, now.
  21. I am definitely proud of you, for doing that. That took guts even though your husband is the bread winner. It would have probably been impossible otherwise. Some people tell us that if we don't like a job we have the option to work somewhere else, but I don't think so. Our culture has it set up so there are not many choices. Most of the time it's a bosses way or the highway, there is no in-between. I appreciate your husband for being the man he is.
  22. She is safe so far. The storm passed, with no severe effect around her home. I told her that the worse was probably over, but to go to the basement again if it starts looking bad on the news again. Thanks for you guys support!
  23. I've seen people doing things that they are just not good at, and they do those things day after day. What they are doing looks about as natural for them as it wood for a dog trying to fly. Don't get me wrong, because trying to fly is okay is you are a baby eagle, leaving the nest, but if you are a beagle that's a totally different situation. Maybe these people just don't have the guts it takes, to start doing what they are good at. What do you do?
  24. I know what you mean, LTD! I just had about 7 trees cut down, near my house, but there are about 30 more that concern me.
