The Private Sector May Not Be Good For Business Ethics
Eddie Bennett posted a topic in RECENT TOPICS
The law can sometimes take ethical business practices and make them look like it's foolish to be ethical. For decades, job-hungry communities have offered tax abatement, low-interest loans, and other financial inducements to lure companies to locate in their community. I call it trickle down economics, which would be ethical if it worked. But, some companies take these incentives, then just leave town when they run out. NOW, cities are fighting back, and many of them are bring lawsuits. Consider this case. From 1984 to 1988 Ypsilanti, Michigan, gave General Motors Corp. -

Business managers like yourself, Subby, are few and far between. If they were not this would be a better society. Business ethics are losing ground to LAW (which does not mean justice). I believe in a balance of Ethics with LAW. Consider this case. Hydrotech Systems, Ltd., is a corporation that makes and installs patented equipment that is used to simulate ocean waves. Their business in in New York. Oasis Waterpick is a California corporation that owns and operates a water park (amusement park) in Palm Springs. Wessman Construction Company, Inc. is Oasis's general contracto -

I watch this movie, last evening. It was a good movie. King George V died in the movie, leaving hie older son the Crown. I want say anymore about the movie, because I want people to see it without much of the detail in advance. If you have a voice, or even if you don't have as much voice as you would like to have, I highly recommend this EDUCATIONAL movie.

It doesn't matter how much a job pays as much as it does the management skills of the payee. I have seen people who make a lot of money go bankrupt, while their counter parts (of little monetary income)were very successful at day-to-day living. More Life Management Education should be taught than any form of money making skill. A person can make a lot of money, but fail in Life Management. The ultimate objective of Life Management Education is to help students learn and incorporate the necessary skills to have productive, complete, and knowledgeable lives. Life Management Ed -

Our educational system has tough people the wrong ideas about how to make a living. They have been taught the chain of command, of marketing, in more than just marketing classes. Now that chain of command is with Mickie D's. They might as well have studied Mickey Mouse cartoons. -
I think most Police Officers do a wonderful job. But, it's the ones who don't back down to someone with money, and/or prestige, who are the best. I was just reading the story about Nicolus Cage, in New Orleans, where he was looking to get a tattoo just hours before he was arrested on charges of domestic violence, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness. The New Orleans Police said in a press release that Cage, who was "heavily intoxicated," was taken into custody after he grabbed his wife's arm and started hitting cars in a scuffle about whether the house they were standing in fro

That's a good attitude, there S & D! I like small businesses, and as for as big business goes, I despise it. I take extra steps to avoid big business in favor of small business. And when I can afford to pay more I buy from small business instead of the throw away Chinese type goods. I was recently approached by the Big Old "Waste Management" Business. I told the representatives to tell the business owner that I rather pay double to a small business than I had for their big old service. If the American people don't start looking after one another, instead of Wall Street ty -
The People In Charge May Not Be As Civil As You Are

Do you have to wait until you are behind closed doors, like in a lawyer's office, before you get real about thing? Do you go around with a smile on your face, trying to fake it until you make it, when the smile is actually from your pretty teeth out? Have you gone to the dentist in order to fix your smile, while you may need a heart transplant, because the one you have is rankled with discord? Just three questions is enough here, to ponder on. -

People in charge are just like the people who go around pretending everything is fine. They can know that things are not fine, but they will tell you that things are indeed fine. It's hard to get to the truth when everybody is so happy as to say things are fine when they are not. We have to be able to cut through the BS, when we want the truth. -

While we go around pretending that everything is just fine, like everybody else responds to us when we ask "How Are You Doing?" Just fine may not be how they are feeling, and neither the way we are feeling when they say, "And You?" People don't like my honesty very much. I have noticed when I tell people that I am feeling worse than I did yesterday, they look at me like what are you talking about. And, when I start telling them what it is they start trying to get away before I finish telling them. -
Education, even when you have an impediment of some type, is very important. Sometimes people who start off with an impediment becomes better in that area of their like than the other parts of their life that ere normal. It's never too late to educate yourself, and if you have the money it just gives you more ability to hire the best educators. I am going to pick up this movie, at redbox, this afternoon. I think everybody can speak like a King, if King George Vi could do it. He had to overcome a speech impediment to be able to speak like a King.

How many obituaries in the news paper actually tells the truth about a person while they were alive. This one is definitely a lie, because it is a fictional person. John Doe's story: Mr, John Doe died Monday, April 18, of complications associated with a lifetime of BS that he didn't really want in his life. His condition was further complicated due to the fact that he failed to do much of anything he wanted to do. Experts say that his death was a result of cramming someone else's idea of life into his own body, his brain, and every thing else about him. Attempts by Mr. Doe t -

It sometimes amazes me to think of how much stamina it takes for a person do what he truly believe to be the right thing. One would think that doing the right thing is much easier than doing what a person knows is the wrong thing. Taking a stand when you are full of self-doubt, and while you are distracted by that kind inter turmoil, is like being cross-examined in court. The clearly defined objective that you started out with can become vague with all the backlash you might get. Good people are few and far between, when it comes to real stamina. Good staying power, is better than be -
I am renting this movie from redbox. It is called "The Kings Speech." Here are the details that got me interested in renting it: "After the death of his father, Bertie (Colin Firth) who has suffered from a debilitating speech impediment all his life, is suddenly crowned King George VI of England. With his country on the brink of war and in desperate need of a leader, he delves into an unorthodox course of treatment with an eccentric speech therapist, Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). With the support of Logue, his family, and his government, the King will overcome his stammer and deliver

You may be facing civil charges, at times in your life, if you cross people in charge of something you think is fraud, deception, negligence, or any number of things people can accuse you of. Some people are afraid to cross authorities associated with things of a fraudulent nature. A person who accuses any authority, knows that authority has more power, but they also may be right that the authority has committed fraud, negligence or some other violation of the law. The accuser, against authority, may become the one who is accused of being the troublemaker. Their integrity and ethics ca

Now, that kind of response is what makes me love, P.com, and my neighbors more and more every day. I may not live in Paulding county anymore, but I still pay taxes there, I still have family there, and I have good reason to feel wonderful about a reply like this on Subby has submitted. Thank's Subby , for being up close, personal, and straight forward like you always are. I believe a man's word is as good as his bond. Paulding county is certainly a better place because you are one of its residence. It an't no brag, it's just a fact! -

What if you suspected "accounting irregularities", and started checking into it, where you proceeded to find that the books were indeed being tampered with, and public shareholders were being mislead, but after reporting it to company authorities you were told to keep quiet or you would lose your job. Would you go ahead and lose your job, or would you continue to work in a corrupt business?
