  1. I agree, I had to do telemarketing at one point and I am never rude or angry with them. I usually tell them that I am not interested and if they keep on I usually chuckle and say "I'm sorry, I don't need whatever they are selling and I am going to have to hang up". If they persist I just hang up, but I have heard some people just let into some telemarketers or slam the phone down in their ear without warning and I just don't get that.... I guess it's not something people can understand until they have had to walk in the shoes of the other....
  2. I am not sure how early they get there but I see the one at 92 and Macland around 9:30 when going through...
  3. I agree with bringing higher paying jobs in to the county, I have an almost 25 mile commute one way. But the thing that everyone keeps saying is that if you don't want big business/commercial then you might as well go ahead and vote yourself a tax hike. That is my question, it seems that commercial business does very little to generate revenue for Paulding, in fact, tax money has to be discounted to get them here. But I do agree, higher paying jobs would be a wonderful addition to the retail in the form of more shoppers not leaving the county. I just don't get some people's logic that all
  4. I have seen LPPT post multiple times about how we just can't survive without raising taxes unless we start bringing some big business in versus all the retail we have. I seriously don't get it, but wanted to see if we could discuss it in a topic separate from the others. I get that having big business here is great but you have to thow all these tax incentives to them in order to get them here. But retail does not have the huge tax incentives and they pay property taxes just like everyone else. And the owner of the buildings pay pretty stiff property taxes as well. I also get that
  5. I haven't seen the New Hope one's.... maybe it is supposed to be a revenue generator kind of thing, dunno....
  6. You had some credibility until you said Hiram Walmart.... :shivers:
  7. It can't be unless we are trick or treating tonight! Nice try though....
  8. What about these new black signs popping up around town? An example is the one in the roundabout at Walmart which has to be a very expensive sign. It appears to be a very expensive item appearance wise.... I assume they are like Cherokee County and point to different communities (like the new retirement facility by Walmart) but really is that necessary to pay for with government funds or is it a sponsored thing and the retirement community pays for it? I would assume since it has Paulding County on it we paid for it, but you know what they say about assuming! LOL I for one do hope all
  9. Good to know, this place is very close to my house!
  10. Sounds like Mr. Clark handles everything as it should be, but who's to say the next guy or the guy after him isn't so ethical. Seems to be a very easy area to manipulate. But I am glad Mr. Clark doesn't use the advantage in his favor, the same can't be said for other elected officials.
  11. We had TMobile for about 8-10 years and recently switched to AT&T only for a better pricing deal but the service almost seems identical. I refuse to pay Verizon rates... If I drop a call, which I can't remember the last time that happened they can just call me back, no biggie....
  12. Federal Minimum wage superceeds Georgia so federal rate of $7.25 is required.
  13. Sheesh, thanks for the last minute notice about the concert! Have Fun!
  14. It just got better! A customer just delivered a yummy sheet cake to say thanks for a job we did in a rush for them! YUM!

  17. between her and Lady Raider this place is always in a tizzy and I am left to keep a level head about the place... It is a thankless job!
  18. My uncle had a similar situation but on a MUCH smaller scale and he had to pay the taxes through the foreclosure date and the bank took them from there. I am almost 100% sure I heard that they actually placed a lien on his personal residence for the arreared taxes which he had to pay out of the net proceeds of his personal residence sale. But I seriously doubt he was incorportated or anything like that but I would imagine that Mr. Carruth's company would be responsible for any taxes due through the foreclosure date. The housing bust sucks, it put a LOT of people in a very horrible and unim
