A couple of points of order: 1) The states are moving towards a National Curriculum, which means that as it is rolled into the schools, there will be many changes with regards to graduation requirements, etc. 2) The county this year decided to open up the honors program to anyone who wanted to take honors classes this year, which means there were NO criteria for students who signed up for next year--no teacher recommendation, no gifted identification, nothing as in years past. 3) Testing is merely a way of showing that a student has learned material.
