This thread has made me reconsider. The next wedding or funeral that I attend, I'm going to bust out the beach balls and airhorns. After all, I should show my support, right?
But, it's not just THAT ONE kids' moment--it's ALL of their moments. How would you feel if you missed your child's name because of other parents celebrating? Besides, graduation is supposed to be a dignified ceremony not a "hoot n nanny."
It's really not the clapping that's the problem. But the air horns and other noise makers do get to be a bit much. If they spread out the names further, graduation would never end. Most classes have between 300--400 kids.
I suspect that's what the poster wants it for; however, hole punches are "free," and confetti costs money. Since it's for a VBS, I'm guessing free is better.
