One thing I have learned over the years a lot of economic growth always has led to higher taxes, A good example of that is Paulding County Before the Building boom Paulding County had the lowest tax rates of any metropolitan county. Now we are among the highest, Same thing occurred in Clayton County before the major expansion of Hartsfield Jackson a Moderate tax rate, After the explosion of airport growth tax rates shot up. More jobs in a county always bring higher taxes that I can see Heck look at the City of Atlanta Probably the largest employers in the state was home at one time to

Chairman Austin says jobs is why he is for the airport
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Really Really!!!!!! Take something out of context and write a 1,000 words that makes no sense and this is what you are getting paid for> Dang Pubby I thought you was interested in scooping the news, I gave you a scoop last week and you got the proof RECORDED and you didn't use it. WOW just WOW!!!!! I guess I will have to give it to the Examiner or maybe one of your other competitors like the.... what is that other little web site that is trying to crowd into your territory ...... Are you by any chance protecting your monopoly here with your actions against the examiner. Similar to what -
The Board of Commissioners are the only ones that can keep this tied up. David Austin David Carmichael David Barnett and Tommy Graham are the ones that started this secret deal using code names and they are the only ones that can stop it. They approved the bond to use tax payers dollars to pay for the expansion, They are the ones responsible for the attorneys fees which can only increase our taxes or Cause more furlough days for all county workers. There is plenty of completion at Hartsfield Jackson on ticket prices we need to keep it there, Or would you like for delta to bring its

These two zonings were turned down in the middle of the building boom summer of 2005
-
I am so sorry that you lost your fight, Was a attorney involved? I disagree zonings can be successfully protested and turned around. Many Paulding residents enjoy the results of one hotly contested rezoning that Paulding County has seen. Two PRD"S zonings were requested on the old Bleakley property Totaling in excess of 600 homes on the Mustang Drive/ Davis Mill Road area The entire area got involved when one person started a petition one Saturday in the parking lot located on the corner of Hiram Sudie rd. And Highway 61. A lot of door to door canvasing was done in a very large

Pubby It is exactly what the case was all about in the beginning open and transparent and honesty. Never was the case about anything else. The case protested the environmental impact. That part was won 100% their will be a environmental impact studies The other part was public hearings... won that 100% their will be public hearings. David can no longer run around the county talking out of both sides of his mouth, We are going to see what he is made of now.

I am certainty concerned about those living around the airport and the depreciation of the property values of those living so close to the airport. I know what they are going through, I have been there and done that. Another thing that really concerns me is the impact that a major airport has on the entire county as well as the little towns in the county' Earlier I posted some real life things that occurred in the small towns in Clayton county Georgia. All one has to do is take a little tour Start with College Park,or Hapeville, Then go to Riverdale. You really can get a good picture

Tundra this is the commissioner worst nightmare David Has to face the folks now and explain the secret sneaky dealing. Do know that the PCCA and the IBA will also be placed under the magnify glass. But wait....... Heck they are one and the same......... How does that one small group get so much control over our tax dollars and they are not even elected?? Because we let them. RISE UP stand up and be counted citizens this thing is not over, It has just began.
-
Hey Pubby...LPPT It is quite amazing what a few dedicated citizens can do Thank you Sue And Mr. Avery for giving us an avenue to voice our opinions and have our voices heard. Ya'll did a great job under the most adverse conditions imaginable. We know that this is just the beginning of this fight and is just one small victory on the long road ahead. Paulding County will stand with you
-
Only if you allow the commission to cost you more, They can stop the entire deal right now. The good part of this is ....It will get us past the May election. And the people's voice will be heard. In a open hearing. The PCAA will have to deal from above board now, Shame on them for trying the under the table crap on the FAA
-
BREAKING NEWS… BREAKING NEWS… BREAKING NEWS!!! Paulding County, it is with GREAT PLEASURE that we announce a SETTLEMENT, outside of court, has been reached with the FAA! They have agreed, now that they know the full scope of the airport expansion, and the commercial intentions of the Airport Authority and County, to evaluate this project through the appropriate legal avenues. See Press Release Below! We would like to thank our amazing attorneys, Mr. Pete Steenland and Mr. Charles McKnight for seeking and obtaining justice, not only for the resident plaintiffs of the lawsuit, but for

Chairman Austin says jobs is why he is for the airport
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Since you think the work at the airport is about creating jobs, Got any idea who is getting that work? The information I get is plateau and the Astra group. Got ant idea how many Paulding County workers are employed with those two groups? Oh...... Ah never mind you and LPPT would be okay if no Paulding County folks were ever employed at the airport With 70 % of the board of Directors of the chamber living outside the county and the airport director living outside the county, why am I not surprised that the jobs being created there are being performed from out side the county? -

You tell us , you seem to be toting the ball for the PCED. IBA, And the PCAA. First we heard of the $11 million additional dollars was Dec 2, 2013 under sworn testimony Of course this was over a year after the deal was done in secret. -

LPPT I did not know I was trying to trump anyones rights other than a runaway Government that is using taxpayer dollars to enter into a public/private partnership in an attempt to bring commercial air traffic to Paulding County. Sorry but……. I do have the right to seek redress from my government, And, I will continue to do so in a civil and peaceful manner. And do know that the group that I stand with is using the means that is provided for in the United States Constitution as well as the constitution of the State of Georgia to have our voices heard. Unlike my government I will do it -

Paulding County is in the news again, It appears that the Georgia Tip Sheet Has picked up on some strong arm tactics by the chamber. I wonder why Mr. Callahan can not have an opposing view and still holds the seat as Chairman. Heck I wonder how long the local business folks are going to put up with this type of action from the Chamber? Yesterday's AJC Article... Thanks, Kelly -- great article! Takeoff delayed for Paulding airport plan Posted: 6:01 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 By Kelly Yamanouchi - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution It’s been nearly three months since Paulding County leaders went public with a plan to attract airline service and become home to the second commercial airport in metro Atlanta. But very little has gone according to their plan since then. Backers have encountered a series of setbacks — and their hopes for an announcement of new air service have been pushed off to next year. LPPT You really do not have a clue what you are posting about. You are posting things that you have heard someone say and Have no clue what even happened here 40 years ago much less what happened in the 1940's I have family here that was here before you was even born. You need to do some more research before you start posting the history of Paulding County And just so you know some of the land at the airport was obtained through imminent domain, That is one reason I did not support David Carmichael he was on the PCAA when that occurred. -

Election season seems to always bring out the best and the worst in the candidates for some reason. It also brings out campaign promises that some keep and some break, even to the point of holding secret meetings to do devious things, And yes, even break campaign promises to some of their most ardent supporters. -

Crossroads you will have to excuse Animal he drank so much of the Jerry Sherain Kool Aid that he now has problems talking coherently. I believe the record will even show some kin ship to ole Jerry? RIGHT ANIMAL?? -
Maybe we can sit down one day and have a talk. I stayed out of this mess as long as I could. Things kept happening and I still did not believe what I was hearing. I stepped back attended a few meetings and weighed both sides before I jumped into this. We both supported David Austin (both elections) Tommie Graham (both elections) and David Barnett one time. At the time we both thought it was the right thing to do. I felt like those three men were a man of their word, And would be open honest and transparent in all dealings. You know as well as I do what there position has always been on

I haven't see the drama queen in here posting today Stay tuned Rome wasn't built in a day A lot of folks have not seen the articles in the Paulding Neighbor They may be owned by the AJC in they are I am not aware of it. In any event they have been fair and balanced with their reports in my opinion. A lot of the facts are dribbled out, It is really hard to get the real facts of what is going on. Like said in a earlier post I was amazed this past Wednesday At the AA and IBA meetings. Were you aware that the IBA members and the AA members are the same folks. Are you okay
