I am so glad to hear this... All this good news is welcome news, I just knew that Paulding was climbing out of the recession, It will make for some very good discussion this year when it comes time to talk about the chairman's Budget. I will copy and post this information and will be some great information to confront the commission with when it comes time to roll back the millage rates to the pre recession levels, I am quite sure they will not be able to slip the next meeting by the citizens like they did the one last election day.

Looks to me like the Cedarcrest /Dabbs bridge road area is going to get the new roads and the brunt of the new housing, Probably will get some in Burnt Hickory area https://www.facebook.com/unfairexit?ref=stream http://www.washingtonwatch.com/bills/edit/ED_22112.html http://www.examiner.com/article/cobb-tsplost-project-list-part-3

Lake point was designed and built for Bartow and Cobb County, The facility is basically self contained with all amenities right there on the campus. Of course I am quite sure that the IBA will get the wild idea that if we could build a couple of hotels in the Hiram/Dallas corridor then could attract some of the participants to come stay with us and dine at say Baby Janes or maybe Dallas sea food market......... OMG I just remembered there was a study made .....and the study shows that we need a convention center as well as a nice hotel in the vicinity of the new hospital?? BB my Grand father

And just what do you propose to do to prevent the developers from building "cheap and affordable housing".
-
I would be satisfied if the politicians just kept their word on what they campaigned for. I have enough faith in the system to believe that the citizens will make the right choice. Most problems the citizens face in this County today is a result of broken promises.
-
You really need to get in the real world, Brett Smith would of never looked at Paulding if he had been able to pull off the deal at Gwinnett. The entire airport deal has been mismanaged from day one original cost $24 million tax dollars Todays real cost in excess of $65 million with projected cost at least $95 million That is tax dollars. Would you invest in SCF based on what you know??? I hope not..... But the fact is you have, you helped pay for the court hearing today to pay for a money pit that the citizens do not want every day the county does more expansion work it is costing you dolla

What we need are five commissioners who want to work for the people and have some controlled growth. Keep the airport as a general aviation airport, develop the land at the airport for commercial use only, Have a impact fee on each house built that will cover the needs for schools and for politicians to do what they say they are going to do before they get elected and appoint people to these jobs that will keep their word
-
Have you talked with your commissioner up there David Barnett and David Austin should be able to fix y,all right up Have them withhold the building permits until they pay up
-
Thanks to the Super 6 Silver Comet Field is still a General Aviation Airport And no passenger service is scheduled.
-
Hey I like that new terminology the Super 6. I really thought they were getting put down a little too much myself.

The reality is most people did not move here to be employed, they moved here for the peace and quite of this rural community. Most moved away from the hustle and bustle of the big city . Sure it would be nice to have a job for every person to work within a few miles from where you live. No county has that. Whether they have a major airport or not. I have been through several elections here in Paulding County and have yet to see anyone campaign on bringing a airport to Paulding County. I have yet to see any candidate campaign on jobs/growth being the number one issue. I sampled the folk

I am very concerned about some special treatment being afforded to some residents that live in close proximity to the airport, And others being ignored completely.

Sound Guy The need for the School bond was due to the massive explosive growth of the Housing industry. I am sure you will recall that the main point of the School Bond was that the builders and the developers should pay half with the other half being paid by the property owners the small un financed group that opposed this bond was overwhelmed by the influx of thousands of dollars (mostly Donated by developers/builders) and we lost that battle. When I hear the same thing being implied today of how the Airport is going to help out on the property I call bull chit on it because you and I bo

That is exactly the point I have been trying to make Beach Bum The Hartsfield Jackson airport has attracted a lot of growth heck at one time had the Ford Assembly plan and many many other manufacturing facilities as well as convention centers, Hospitals, etc. yet the tax rates for the property owners continued to soar, the growth did not reduce property taxes they increased. Heck this is a matter of record take the tour and see what a mess a commercial airport brings to a community. Do know that the crime, corruption, poor schools, high taxes etc is not just limited to neighborhoods arou

What really amazed me was the testimony today that $500,000 of the loan was already been paid and the other $500,000 was past due with invoices already in for the payment just waiting on this hearing. Do know that the this is not over, the case will be heard at some point in time, The County will not be able to drag this case out for years like they did Surepip. Dang I can't get over how quick the PCAA went through that million and it does not appear that anything has been accomplished.
-
If the airport expansion is allowed to go forward we will soon become just like the City of Atlanta And Clayton County. Do not be fooled by the assertion that a airport will help the property owners bear less of the tax burden. The City of Atlanta and Clayton both have higher tax rates than Paulding County, And they are home to the Biggest airport in the world.. I wish folks would stick to facts... Do know that the person that wrote the above opinion was very much involved in getting the School bond passed a few years back which resulted in one of the largest tax increases in the history of P

Got to wash and dry my "costume" and get ready for the hearing tomorrow at 9:30 AM Court room 1

I have no problem with Chamber members expressing their first amendment rights. I am quite sure that they are okay with me spending my dollars at the merchants that do not support the airport expansion. I do wish the PCAA and the IBA would allow citizens to address them with their grievances though.
-
I see two scenarios for the airport. It will be a total failure after the PCAA pours another $60 to $ 70 million and the residents that is left will be stuck with a enormous tax bill to pay and a degraded standard of living for years to come.......... Or it will be a tremendous success the airport will grow by leaps and bounds New terminals two more new runways Marta station(already planned) Four lane bypass road from third army road @ I 75 to the Airport( already on Drawing Board). and then to I 20 A multi use complex around the goldmine lake area which includes 30,000 homes and a self conta

This place reminds me of the old Ponce De Leon Ball park where the Atlanta Crackers used to play, My grand father use to take me there when I was a kid. Had some up close views of the players Ralph (country) Brown was one of my favorite players back in the day. -
Is this the same person who is on the Board of Directors of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce and whose name appears in the full page Ad supporting the expansion of the Paulding County Airport? Oh I almost forgot is Sam A resident of Paulding County?
-
Now that was funny even if it was directed at me LOL LOL. I ain't messing with no judge you can Jump around all over the court room if you desire, I am going to sit down and shut up!!!!

I have said many times this airport expansion needs to be stopped right now. Once Commercial passenger flights begin from SCF then this County and the City of Dallas is doomed to become another Hartsfield Jackson and another Clayton County and yes Complete with its very own MARTA station. It is very important to delay the passenger service as long as possible, Hopefully forever.
