Measuring by his success, it's likely that no son in history ever took his father's dying words more seriously that Tiger took his father's. ...Know what those dying words were? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "Son, focus on golf and screw everything else."

May-be. However, I only see one "Jughaid" among the member list. Perhaps the male 'Jughaid' I think I know is misspelled such that I can't find it. Perhaps the 'Jughaid' I think I know knows this female and transferred his password to her, or perhaps the female version hacked the password. ....Perhaps I'm FoS.

This is exceptionally odd. Several years ago an acquaintance of mine confided in me ('confided' means I won't reveal who it iss) that he had created an alter ego on p-com, and that the name was "Jughaid". Once the Jughaid we all know and love today started dabbling in p-com-politics, I remembered the old conversation/revelation and looked up the member name. Sure enough, the join date is close to where it should been so as to indicate that this is the same person as this person I know. I was so sure this is the same person that I sent a very rare PM to him to say pretty much what I said ab

22 people buying 10 tickets every week and pooling them should expect to win the lottery once every 15,359 years. So, one suggests that y'all each buy 100 tickets per week so as to improve the expectation of wining to once per 1,536 years. With that said, spending $10/week on lottery tickets is better than buying cigaretts.

That is all... And I heard my first chuck will's widow this evening too.

Does the author suggest a stronger theory than natural selection? That article is too much to read to get to the end and be left with natural selection questions going unanswered, standing as proof god(s) exist.

She's Amazonian. She looks better in her jungle battle dress--which is dabs or war paint in strategic locations--than in a bikini. <flicks brows> Are you sure you want me to ask her? You might casually commit some Amazonian faux pas* and she'll have to bust up your set to make things right again. The exotic ones are hard to control like that. * Gotta be real careful. the last time I said faux pas around her, she tore out to whupp Daddy's *ss.

I don't have 5-10 bikini girls, but I do have one 5'11" bikini woman.

Straight Down Sixty-one We're headed to Vill-a-Ri-ca!

Thanks man! All this has just been "thinking outloud" coming from me.

Yep. They're probably coming here to hide our car keys and TV remotes, invisibly following us arond and giggling while we look for them.

I hear you. Unless faster-than-light (FTL) travel is possible, the distances involved are so far and the time so long that physical beings would die en route; maybe even becoming extinct. This is why they would likely have made the jump from biological to non-biological existance before even setting sail. These beings would have long since automated whatever maintenance needs they have--no need for slaves. If and when we meet another being in space, "we" will be an "it" and we and the ones we meet will be non-biological. It it the destiny of every intelligent being to live indefina

Sincerely PUBBY, thanks. The conquitadors and these aliens are not the same thing at all--as you know, but probably for a different set of reasons. The aliens would be far more advanced than us like the conquistadors were with the natives, but unlike the American natives, we humans have nothing to offer aliens who probably aren't even in physical form anyway. What does physical beings have to offer non-physical beings? And on top of that, the native Americans lost what they had becasue for whatever reasons, they simply couldn't defend it. The evil white man didn't take from t

My daddy used a toothpick for the hand-mouth habit thing. I suspect the lozenge sort of relieves this too. You are NOT alone.
-
Change your habits; avoid the "I've got to smoke" triggers. Don't take the lozenges necessarily per the instructions as I think it would lead to the lozenges replacing the smokes (which is probably preferrable to smoking.) Instead, when you the urge to smoke and have the opportunity to smoke, pop a lozenge instead. If you're a SAHM or otherwise not in a 'smoke-free' environment for hours at a time so that you can smoke whenever, I can only imagine how tough it will be. I shall not smoke! I shall not smoke! I shall not smoke! I shall not smoke! I shall not smoke!
-
Don't say that. Say, "I shall not smoke." Those lozenges and gum really help, but wishing you didn't smoke ain't going to do it.

^^^^^ Except for the high-priced cars part, this, I have witnessed. She spent half her time calling her associates, teaching them how to milk the most out of the system, where the lines were drawn that would cut them off if crossed. FWIW, I would nearly bet my life she wasn't a druggie. I don't like any more than y'all do...I don't want Uncle Same to go there though. We should either fund welfare or not; not tell them what to do with the money. Sincerely: I so badly want to have a say-so in their lives, but I realize they can't be fixed; I realize they have kids; I'm afraid of the

While being at risk of sounding like I'm calling BS, which I am not: I used to say the same thing as you too until I realized that I hadn't ever actually witnessed what I had assumed to be welfare recipients getting into Cadillacs--they were just dressed like, and acting like welfare recipients.
-
Like I said earlier: 1) People can't be fixed, but they can be f-ed with. Telling them what they can spend 'their' money on is f-ing with them. That f-ing with them is pleasing to some people--myself included to some degree, but I don't want Uncle Sam to go there. 2) It boils down to whether welfare is funded or not.

There's a drive-thru lane at the grocery store? I don't like it any more than either of you.
-
You read like your emotions have commandeered your conservatism. You know they're on welfare because...? It boils down to whether we fund welfare or not. This should not be a knee jerk reaction to jump at any perceived chance we get to make others be like us--like they're supposed to be. Slippery Slope indeed. IMHO, Steven Lang's post is the only one owrth reading so far.

Thu Flarda Git-tar Army kicked ass. I've been looking for my Bring 'Em Back Alive CD for a couple of days.

Would it be OK for them to buy smokes? Would it be OK for them to buy alcohol or to buy steak? Does anyone really think that the deadbeats are going to throw their hands up and declare that since they can't do illegal drugs anymore that they'll go get jobs instead? Won't they just switch to being drunks? I didn't read the article...except for whiping up votes, what's the goal of this proposed legislation? PEOPLE CANNOT BE FIXED!!! But, they can be f-ed with. I should have just deferred to this brilliant and objectively written post:

I think we'd be no more likely to be enslaved by aliens to do their bidding than we are likely to enslave fleas to do our bidding. I believe encounters with space traveling beings would be with single entities that exist non-physically for eons at-a-time; existing in something like computer code so as to pass the time between encounters with whatever might be interesting to it; the 'it'--the whole--living perhaps thousands-and-thousands of rich, individual virtual lifespans that they design; the ideas for these designs coming from encounters with physical creatures like us, or other, adv
