  1. I think National Geographic is where I saw the first boobs ..... And those native guys that wore those penis protectors sticking out. LOL
  2. When we first moved to Georgia I was 8 and we moved to Gwinnett County off Pleasant Hill Road. We lived on a dirt road and there was NOTHING there. This was 1958. This was before interstates here but we did have what was called the Northeast Expressway from Gwinnett into Atlanta, which is now I-85. I remember we used to go to Suburban Plaza and of course there was Lennox Square, but it was small. Then in 1962 we moved to Powder Springs and we would shop in Marietta occasionally at Sears there on Roswell Road or go to Belmont Shopping Center in Smyrna. The first mall I can rem
  3. Well this was back in the day before town center. This was in the sixties. LOL
  4. My mother used to order all my summer shorts and tops and Keds from Sears and we would pick the order up at the Mableton store. There also used to be a Grants in Mableton.
  5. Oh my gosh, I loved the Sears Wish Books. I think when my kids were growing up in the 80's we still got them. But my grandkids don't have a clue. LOL A wish book? and look at you like you're crazy!
  6. In no way do I want to diminish who Merle Haggard was. He was great in his own right, my mother loved his music, and he was a mighty fine looking young man. And to be honest, I don't listen to country. But ever once in a while someone comes along that just rocks your world and turns it inside out. Elvis did that. I remember me ( was 5 years old) and my mama both were crazy about Elvis. He did what no one before him had done. He played rock 'n roll with a little blues and he moved like no one else before him. And he was gorgeous. Then there was Michael. He changed music for
  7. Born a slave in Dorchester County, Maryland, Tubman was beaten and whipped by her various masters as a child. Early in life, she suffered a traumatic head wound when an irate slave owner threw a heavy metal weight intending to hit another slave and hit her instead. The injury caused dizziness, pain, and spells of hypersomnia, which occurred throughout her life. She was a devout Christian and experienced strange visions and vivid dreams, which she ascribed to premonitions from God. In 1849, Tubman escaped to Philadelphia, then immediately returned to Maryland to rescue her family. Slowly, o
  8. I can't find confirmation either except TMZ reports 2010. I can tell you this. When you are trying to walk and your hip is bone on bone, you take pain pills or you just don't walk. I just didn't walk any more than I had to. I can say that the relief from the ever present hip pain after surgery was a miracle. Even though there was some pain from the surgery, it was nothing compared to bone on bone pain and I could walk again! I had AVN in my right hip, which meant the bone had died and crumbled.
  9. Percocet/percodan/oxycodone/OxyContin are opioids and are synthetic heroin. The "save" shot works on synthetic or real heroin.
  10. I've delayed posting this because I didn't want to believe it yesterday when TMZ first broke the story. I mentioned that Prince needed hip replacements and I don't have any way to verify it, but TMZ reports he had replacement surgery in 2010. They also reported that after his Atlanta concert last week , his jet had to make an emergency stop in Moline, Ill. TMZ is reporting that he had overdosed on Percocet and had to be given the "save" shot. Even though his reps were putting out stories that he had the flu. Now TMZ is reporting that Prince did in fact overdose yesterday. They'r
  11. She was not an attractive woman, plain and simple. But her life was anything but plain and simple.
  12. Because Prince was, well Prince.
  13. If you haven't listened to Darling Nikki, you should. LOL That song upset Tipper Gore so bad they started labeling songs with ratings.
  14. He was a Jehova's Witness. He needed hip surgery for years but he wouldn't sign for a transfusion if needed. That's why he walked with a cane. Recently he had the flu and canceled a couple of dates, was in and out of the hospital and played last Thursday night here in Atlanta. I wonder if he didn't get the care he should have.
  15. Oh my God! I just heard. I knew he wasn't feeling well but he was just here at the Fox last Thursday I saw him in 1985 and loved every minute!! It was the Purple Rain tour and everything I had was purple. Purple clothes, purple boots, purple bag, purple purple everything! I'm in shock. RIP Prince
  16. Question? Since we had a mild winter and we had the cold snap last week and over the week-end and the blackberries are blooming, and May is typically when the blackberries bloom and we have "Blackberry Winter", what are we going to call it in May when we have a cold snap? Inquiring minds want to know?
  17. What Harriett Tubman did saving so many slaves with the Underground Railroad is immeasurable. But for me, it would be more fitting to have put a Cherokee Chief on the bill since it was Andrew Jackson that took their land away and drove them from their homes on "The Trail of Tears", causing over half to die. Sequoyah comes to mind.
  18. This morning I was Harris Bridge road and they had a license checkpoint. Since they have an office here we may be seeing more of the State Patrol. And they don't play.
  19. That's the way I understand it as well. Surepip has ranted for years how he had helped line up possibilities for rail as well as business parks. The commission was more interested in getting their good 'ol boys in residential construction get rich, along with themselves. All the big parcels of land are gone and we're doomed to remain a bedroom community and watch our taxes go up mainly due to a non-operational airport.
  20. This is old news. FOX5 reported on it last month. They claimed they lived at addresses that would allow them to attend Allatoona High, including a grandmother. I don't see anything happening with this.
  21. I went to Media Attachments and it let me delete. I had some from 2012. LOL
