  2. 09/11 AN AMAZING STORY... Here is an amazing story from a flight attendant on Delta Flight 15, written following 9-11: On the morning of Tuesday, September 11, we were about 5 hours out of Frankfurt, flying over the North Atlantic . All of a sudden the curtains parted and I was told to go to the cockpit, immediately, to see the captain. As soon as I got there I noticed that the crew had that "All Business" look on their faces. The captain handed me a printed message. It was from Delta's main office in Atlanta and simply read, "All airways over the Continental United States are clo
  3. . He played a half breed in Gunsmoke And he died from Cardiac Arrest. He had a great run! RIP Burt .
  4. Life’s not fair. People don’t play by the rules. It’s just one of those things. We all know how it should work.

  6. That temperature has been wrong for years. And year.
  7. That’s what I said above. It was Chris Rock 20 years ago. It don’t matter what color you are, run.
  8. I don’t even know why you felt the need to bring this up Captain, but everyone knows you don’t be on MLK Blvd in any city. It’s usually the major dividing line of the haves and have nots. You want to find out why, study history. It is what it is. And ain’t no democrat or republican gonna help these folks. The old ones do the best they can to stay safe. Hell 20 years ago Chris Rock said you don’t be on MLK Blvd, you’re in the wrong place no matter what color you are.
  9. People just don’t know how to spell anymore, even with autocorrect. You should read some FB posts sometime.
  10. I’m older than all of you. GD, I didn’t know you were a Virgo. Bitch LOLOL I’m one too. A Virgo that is. Actually both. LOL. I’m a Labor Day baby, September 3 and my mother was September 6. We always used to have a big birthday party. Now it’s just another day.
  11. Thank you for a belated welcoming home. I have no idea how hard it was to endure the jungle and then come home to a country that was mad at you. I had two cousins serve and they both came back safe. I was at the airport every time they left and every time they came home. God Bless the USA
  12. I loved the old Atlanta Auditorium. They had a huge mirror ball that was so cool. I saw a lot of the early groups there before they built the Omni. One that totally blew me away was ZZTop. I didn’t have a clue who they were. This was probably 1972/73 And my girlfriend was from New Mexico and she knew exactly who they were. I couldn’t believe that sound could come out of three guys and three instruments. They rocked the house!!
  13. First off Neil Young is a snob. Who cares. They did better without him. It was historic and some of the most amazing music came out of that festival. No one expected that many people, hence the overload for facilities and lack of food and water. But they made it. And they’ve talked about it all of their lives. It was a “had to be there” moment in history. Yeah, not everything in history is bad. I was amazed by Woodstock. I was 19, wish I had gone but didn’t have the courage to go so far away into the unknown. But I did wear the album out. Like many others.
  14. Elvis was in Atlanta July 3, 1973 I remember it well, I took my mother. She loved Elvis like millions of other women. http://www.elvispresleymusic.com.au/pictures/1973-july-3.html
  15. No Atlanta. I only lived in Alabama until I was 8. But I have over 100 slides I took of the Stones with a great camera. I should go through them someday. I would love to have seen Stevie Wonder. When he first came out, it was Fingertips, Part I and Part II. I was 13. He was 13. It was 1963 at the pool in Powder Springs. We went just about every day and wore that song out. That was the first year I was allowed to wear a bikini and it was RED. Those were some good times.
  16. And to be actually technically correct my mother took me to see Marty Robbins and then Fats Domino at the Birmingham Auditorium when I was somewhere around 6 years old. Marty Robbins was 1955 and Fats Domino was 1956 I looked it up. LOL .
  17. How could I forget.....The Rolling Stones in 1975 and Elvis in 1973.
  18. Oh my goodness I love Mothers Finest and never understood why they didnt make it BIG. I think they had problems. I saw them for free at Piedmont Park. I also saw WAR, Chaka Kahn, and the Allman Brothers before they made it big. Piedmont Park was THE place to be back in the day. Especially the Jazz festival. Chick Corea, The Mandrills and Quincy Jones. I saw just about everybody who was anybody at paid concerts back in the day. The longest line I stood in was at Davidsons for Paul McCartney and the Wings. I saw rock and roll, funk, R&B and jazz. Les Zeplin to Jethro T
  19. My first was Paul Revere and the Raiders but it was at the Merchandise Mart downtown Atlanta. And it was somewhere around ‘66/‘67.
  20. I was 19. I kinda wanted to go and some friends talked about going but we were too afraid. Too far from home into the unexpected. It was truly an experience and one I missed, but I have no regrets.
