I love summertime, I always remember me and my friends in high school riding around with the top down, riding around at night. Stopping and getting together listening to WGN playing out of Chicago. You could only pick up WGN at night. And we would turn it up and dance in somebody's parking lot. It was wonderful being young, and full of love for everything new and the adventure ahead. In light of this information that I wasn't aware of, it makes me so angry. I want those people driving so careless and reckless and well over the speed limit to be charged with something. How do you cause the death of two people and serious injury to another and walk away free? Was the driver of the Toyota tested for alcohol and drugs? I would be all over whoever I had to be to try to bring some charges on these two individuals.

I used to work in Marietta. I take the little one to Hiram to watch the trains. You don't get on the train tracks for any reason. I've never tried to beat a train for any reason. It just amazes me at the people that can't hear or see the train coming.

Why in the world hasn't this been published by any news source? Did you give your account to the police? Was the driver of the Toyota charged? Does the family know what really happened? This is so senseless and sad and I think the two racing cars should be charged. Two very bright and promising young people lost their lives because of their carelessness. And I haven't even heard an update about the brother in the hospital. That could have been one of mine!

I called one of the funeral homes and they said the family is getting prices, so I don't think any arrangements have been made yet.

I heard from Melissa about an hour ago and she said that PT had gotten Thad up and with assistance he walked about 25 feet. His heart rate and oxygen levels held good. They are still in ICU and and thinks he will probably be there 5-7 more days. She did say the thoracic surgeon found some old injuries that were made worse by his coughing. He only had about 50% capacity in both lungs and now he will have 100%. Sounds like a lot of things got repaired and he's on his way to a full recovery!! I know it must have felt good to get up and walk. He has been in the hospital 26 days today.

Does anyone know of any arrangements yet? I think as a community it would be such a show of love and support if we could just stop by and pay our respect. I plan on it and so will my grandson. . I'm glad you were there at the right moment. You may have saved his life.

Look at how long and how many wrecks it took to get a light there at the high school. From my road on Paul Aiken turning left onto 61 is dangerous, especially during heavy traffic. My grandson actually goes out the back way to Scoggins to the light at McDonalds and 61. I'm really glad he does that. He drives a 6 speed now and there's no room for error!
