  1. This is why you should never allow a "for profit" company to participate in any community event. Non-profits only, there are more than enough in Paulding County.
  2. Bottom line is all an adult has to do is make a boy nervous and he's gone, no trial, no charges, no defense and they are no longer a leader. It's been that way for years. However in the new age of technology, it's much easier to track those people that may move from council to council. BSA has always put the interest and safety of the boy first. If the youth protection guidelines are followed there is near zero chance anything in appropriate could happen. All adults, registered or not are required to take the training if they want to go to the zoo with their little Johnny. They take
  3. So there is an entry fee per person and a $10.00 parking fee??
  4. The Little Red Hen comes to mind. No he has no control of the numbers, but he does have control of what comes out of his mouth. Half truths and misinformation isn't what "is reported" by the BLS
  5. I believe those files were there to protect children. All it takes is an accusation and the adult is gone from scouting, as in forever. Heaven help those that were wrongly accused, may the ones that are guilty burn in Hell.
  6. I don't think Jesus was all that political. Cesar wasn't elected you know.
  7. You know Ross Perot has endorsed Romney, don't you?
  8. You can use the extra for gas and food.
  9. The brain washing is going well. The politicians have sucked all the common sense out of people's brains. True story.
  10. So it's all about you and what you want. The Hell with everyone else. Guess what, people are struggling to make payroll in this economy, there isn't much left for advertising. What would you rather have a business do, make payroll or pay for advertising?? You can live without minimum wage workers, did you really just say that?? Really?? OMG
  11. I can't afford the gas to go, can I ride shotgun??
  12. Yea, former member is quite telling, I must agree.
  13. Doesn't matter gas and groceries cost a whole lot more. That 2.2% increase will just be added to the 15% increase for the other living expenses. So instead of a 20% increase you only have a 17.2 increase. :yahoo:
  14. Perfect sense, it's called "fuzzy math". Politicians do it all the time. This thread tells me the tactic is working for those that want things to be better even if they are not. I prefer to call it "unrealistic".
  15. Raising the minimum wage will increase the cost of goods, if you don't believe that watch what happens. If the Hope Scholarship is the root cause of increase of secondary education in Georgia, how do you explain the increases in the rest of the US?
  16. Now I understand how the progressives do their math. Obama does it all the time. If the increase is less than the anticipated increase, it's a decrease.
  17. I think if you asked my grandparents today, you'd find they were very happy. Coming from a large family we spent many days, weeks, lots of time sharing hay ins, huge Sunday dinners and lots of family working together. Hard work didn't hurt them and it sure hasn't hurt me. As a matter of fact, it's the savings that are killing the middle class, or the lack there of. Edited to add, my grandfather lived to 96 and grandmother to 104.
  18. I remember my grandparents working for minimum wage, busting their butts, raising 10 kids. You know what?? They didn't charge stuff on a credit card, they didn't buy stuff they didn't need, they managed to put a little money away to buy a house and open a little store of their own. Too many people are being victimized by the government. There's nothing wrong with hard work and profit is not a dirty word. They did build that, they built themselves into middle class America. How?? By hard work and saving instead of spending. Not from government interference and without government ha
  19. I think it's like the Clinton's. Look, look over here............not there!!
  20. Now that I've had time to think about this, my biggest worry is someone will rent from their "friend", BIL, cousin, business partner at inflated rates and we will be stuck in the inflated lease for years to come. On the surface it looks good, reality says different. Thanks for the great discussion. Christy, good thread!! Thank you!
  21. Christy the way I understand (from reading it) is that right now the state can only do a one year lease. The landlord can raise the rent at the end of the year or they can move and spend a lot of $$$$ relocating. If they can sign multi-year leases, they can lock in the cost for more years and in the long run would probably save money if rental costs were to skyrocket, not to mention the cost of "moving". Anyway, that's how I understand it as it is written.
  22. Can people not understand, you've been had. The last 3 years or so premiums have increased at unheard of levels. Yea, 2.2% seems small in comparison to the last couple of years. However, I have no idea how a 2.2% increase is a reduction. It's sort of like gas prices, over $4.00 was horrible, $2.50 doesn't seem so bad but it's still a lot more than it was 3 1/2 years ago. Why are people so inept they don't realize they've been played.
  23. Oh I see, as long as your confidence is in tact, it's fine. What about mine?? Don't I matter, too??
  24. I thought this thread was about consumer confidence??
