please keep my cousin and his family in your prayers
gwilli8866 replied to Lady Raider's topic in May they rest in Peace
That is so sad....prayers for the parents and the entire family. I cannot even imagine....... -
Heard it here at Hiram Sudie/McClung/Nebo.

I like Reesy bought an ashtray at Walmart. It fits perfectly into one of the cupholders and I use that.

Thanks, I will get them checked before I re-wire the whole house. Thanks for all the names - I will start getting estimates and the house checked next week. I've got to get this plumbing stuff finished first before I start another project. Hopefully they will finish Monday so I can start on the electrical. I guess after 34 years it is time for everything to start needing major repair but does it all have to come at ONCE???????LOL

No, the power bill is pretty consistent. The stove, furnace etc are OK now. We had a new meter installed less than 60 days ago. It has to be something in the walls since the breaker box is OK and all of the appliances have been replaced already. Just scares me thinking that some of the wiring insulation was damaged and that we won't know it until it is too late. . . . Thanks, I checked the CM listing first. I try to use them when possible. In fact, GLT Plumbing is here now replacing all of my copper pipes with the new CPVC. Copper was starting to get pinholes in it after 34 year

I think there is but I will double check it. Thanks!

We have changed the bulbs and it is in all rooms - not just one fixture. I wish it were as simple as replacing one fixture but I am afraid that it isn't. Breaker box looks fine and is adequate in size for our house The lightning travelled all the way down the walls of the house burning up all the appliances etc. Insurance has already had to pay over $11000 for the appliances, tvs, stereos etc. but I want to make sure it is fixed right. Thanks for the advice and trying to help.

Insurance co paid for someone to check it out but they can't see what is behind the walls etc. They can check the readings and it if is not "shorting" at that particular time they still won't know the damage done to the insulation on the wiring etc. I keep thinking about Grayce (who lived next door to me) and this happened to them and then 6 months later their house burnt down. Not willing to take that chance. Would rather just get it completely re-done and be sure. I am also going to get Greystone to put a lightning surge protector on the line coming into the house.

Thank you!

I updated my Firefox to 3.6 and so far today it has not "crashed" on me. We will see later on how it does. Thanks for all the advice.

Our house is 34 years old now and we were hit by lightning in September during the storms. Our lights have started "flickering" - almost like a strobe light - when we turn them on and it scares me. I need someone to give me an estimate on totally re-wiring my house. Has anyone had this done and who do you recommend? Thanks!

Okay, I will. Thanks!

I found it in my control panel installed programs and it is Mozilla 3.5.8 Should I uninstall and reinstall?
-
It is the latest version - it did an update about a week ago. I thought it said version 3.6 but am not sure. Where can I look to verify the version? It is the latest version - it did an update about a week ago. I thought it said version 3.6 but am not sure. Where can I look to verify the version?

Thanks, I will try Chrome or Safari until they get the Firefox bugs worked out! Love Firefox until the last couple of weeks I had no problems.

I used to use IE but it seems so much slower than Firefox. It takes longer to open sites and I don't have a lot of patience. LOL

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for quite a while now but recently - last week or so - Firefox "crashes" 2-3 times a day. I just get a pop-up stating that Firefox had a problem and crashed. Would I like to restart? What is going on? Is anyone else having these problems and who do you use as your search engine? It is getting real aggravating to have to restart 2-3 times a day especially when I am in the middle of something (not on the same site each time - it crashes on different sites not just one).

Hubby went down Hiram Sudie to Bill Carruth to 278 to Lawson's feed and he said they were fine.

Thank you, we have 2 more full size and 3 miniatures. First thing they did when we let them out of the barn this morning was to roll in the snow.

My bird feeder is covered up in little birds. They must be stuffing themselves to prepare for the weather. -
