  1. LPPT: With all due respect, I think you might want to do a little more research into Propeller's track record. They have NONE. They may be "affiliated" with a overseas firm that actually does manage 37 airports. (In Ireland.) Check their website, the ONLY Propeller Airport project that is listed is: http://www.flysilvercomet.com/ They are an *investment* firm, not a airport management firm. Oh, by the way, his Gwinnett/Briscoe proposal was submitted by their BOC for review and was rated a 51 score out of 100. (Which = FAIL!) That's why Gwinnett rejected it, Smith didn't have th
  2. - My taxpayers dollars don't go to my neighbor moving his lawn (and he mows his law a lot.) - My taxpayers dollars don't go the bikers riding up and down on 278 - My taxpayers dollars don't go the garbage man picking up my trash (I pay him.) We are *ALL* looking at a 1.3% COUNTY WIDE mil increase on ALL of our county taxes, without the opportunity to receive any pertinent information from any of our county officials (BOC, AA or IBA) to fund this expansion project. Or comment on it. Or what they have done behind closed doors. NO PUBLIC INPUT. NONE. ZIP. ZERO. "Open and t
  3. ^^^pubby: Okay, if that is the way you want to view it. Slander??? :::shaking head::: Really losing respect for your journalistic endeavors here. Rapidly.
  4. I was denied entrance into the COC meeting, (the front doors were *locked*). even through the breakfast portion was already over and there were at least three people that left through the lower rear back doors during the time I was expressing my desire to see Mr. Smith's presentation. So, I know for a fact that at least three seats were empty, but they did not allow me in. I had the $15 admission fee on me. I told the "door guard" that I would be happy to pay the fee. (Oh, the three people that left while was I was asking for access to the presentation were wearing either COC or BOC name badge
  5. Nice post feelip. I envy you tonight...
  6. Actually, as I understand it, Chairman Austin could have attended the meeting as well. Since he showed up at the church earlier in the afternoon to demand a copy of the meeting presentation. They gave it to him. He would have had an equal opportunity to engage with the citizens that attended as Pownell did. Too bad he decided not too show and address any questions to him after the presentation. (Or any of the other BOC members for that matter.) I don't know what the problem is with trying to get the word out about the airport expansion project instead of keeping it in the dark like the Ai
  7. Oh, okay, thanks for clarifying that for me. So I have to pay *extra* to actually express my "opinion weight" regarding board posts? You should at least make it *equal* with three ups and three downs per day. Looks a little lopsided to me as far as feedback. Be fair. Just saying.
  8. No, sorry I wasn't clear. This isn't about the airport issue, it's about my own personal experience with Paulding County.
  9. Not until they cross your property line, declare imminent domain, take a easement out of *your* land…oh, and you are still responsible for the property taxes on said land. It happened to me, I have been through it this mess before... Pubby, while I'm here, on the message replies, why can you only apply three green votes per day, and NO red votes at all? Hmmm…(at least I can't)
  10. Jamie, With all due respect, I know you are only trying to do your own job to promote economic expansion in Paulding. Some of your efforts have been successful. (Kudos). Others, not so much. (ie: movie studio.) You and the IABC (and the BOC) take all the credit for the bringing in the Interroll plant when that isn't 100% true and you know it. There are *NO* facts to support the Delta is involved in the airport expansion discussion. That is an outright assumption. Why don't you say it is the the City of Atlanta behind funding the "opposition project"? They could be equal targets.
  11. Guess I'm going to have to switch out my HVAC maintenance away from Ragsdale. Too bad, I like our service guy.
  12. I'm not sure how/or where Chairman Austin has made the leap from assuming Delta is behind all of these "covert" lawsuits that he referring to. "Covert" can be related to "Confidential" and "Confidential" is okay in his playbook. Last time I checked The Dallas New Era, the front page headline wasn't "DELTA IS SUING DAVID AUSTIN FOR ALLOWING BACKDOOR DEALS REGARDING A MAJOR COUNTY ASSET!" Here's a new one for you: http://georgiatipsheet.com/2013/11/12/paulding-county-chamber-gathers-amid-backlash-airport-deal/
  13. We need to show up to this meeting to get information. You *are* going to be on the hook for this expansion, your portion of County tax dollars is going to go up. Article just posted the this week: http://ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/196-paulding-county-officials-try-to-block-discovery&Itemid=82
  14. Mojo: Actually he has *two* good jobs, (maybe even three) …
  15. Here's another one for you: (hope the kiddos don't get to see that on the way to The Mouse House: http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/18/travel/couple-fined-oral-sex-airplane/
  16. Because Swafford and Austin think so. Now just sit back and watch the new episode of Duck Dynasty, we've got you covered, buddy.
  17. Whitey: If you have facebook access, check out: https://www.facebook.com/savepauldingco Another webpage just up: www.paudlingairport.us No, according to Swafford. There are "only ten"...
  18. But the money has to be coming from *somewhere*. They are already doing demo work to rework the runway and the reconfigure "terminal" building to accommodate commercial passengers. Without the necessary FAA approvals. Talk about putting the cart before the horse.
  19. Well, I guess if you look at it from the perspective of Austin (+ Swafford) being "in the loop" the whole time, they did a fantastic job marketing our airport to a NY venture capitalist firm. They sold them on it and go them them bite on Paulding County. (We still are in the dark as far what the details of the lease are, so it remains to be seen if was a good deal for our airport or not.) Okay, Austin +1 for your role on the Airport Authority board. You got the deal done. Not exactly the most honest way to do it, but I guess that doesn't count. As far as Austin representing the citize
  20. But that was after Austin was forced into a corner at a packed Town Hall meeting. That he didn't want. This is when I first started to distrust both Austin's and Swafford's tactics. They had to get buy in from surrounding counties in order to make the connection work thru the west side corridor (from Hartsfield up 61to 75 north as far we could figure out). Not the case with the airport, they could keep it in check and undercover between the two of themselves for almost a year.
  21. Sorry, AA = "Airport Authority", I'm just so fuming mad that I didn't want to spend the time to spell it out...
  22. Plus, they rushed in yesterday's AA morning meeting at 8:30 under everybody's nose (at the last minute) so that the BOC could "approve" the *$3 million* worth of bonds at 7pm last night. That's damn sneaky, I don't care what side of the fence you are on about the airport development. There was no mention of the yesterday's upcoming 8:30 meeting last Tuesday at the regular AA monthly meeting. I know that because I was there. Sneaky Comet Field.
