  1. I knew this was gonna happen whe everyone was raving about the salt system.Look what is does to cars up north.
  2. New york gal, you may have been in the industry a long time up North but you ain't been involved here as long as "Us,the Old school skating folks". You, Jeff and whoever else that was involved in making this decision can sell your alcohol in there, I am just saying I won't support it and the word is out now for others to decide.I just cannot understand the concept that parents can't Leave it Alone" long enough for thier children sake to skate in a Alcohol free place. I will be going elsewhere.
  3. take your kids and grandkids with ya.
  4. It is not sheltering my children, They made choices at young ages not to be around it because of inlaws drinking at thier kids birthday parties and making Arses of themselves. My father was a alcoholic and they did not want to be around it. Children have no choice but to be around it when they are having to be raised in it.Just sayin'
  5. let them, again I will not partipate and I am sure alot more people do not want to partipate in allowing a injury to thier child because they chose to take them there and one of the irresponsible drunks that needed "just one more" tries to skate and injures or kills a kid from falling on them.
  6. My point has been made, and for the record I do not support Disney or any other place like that. I and my children have to set an example for this generation and we will. I choose to support non alcoholic establishments. There are plenty of Real "Family Oriented" places to go.And Zoo, your opinion don't mean nothing to me.
  7. Pubby, you must not have children and if you support this then that is fine . It does not belong in a skating rink with children period.I do not carry my kids to a bar.
  8. I decided last night to take my GK's skating in Hiram and bought them Icee's at the snack bar and while waiting in line noticed that they are serving alcohol. Now I have been skating since I was 3 years old and grew up skating at Cresent and Sparkles in Smyrna,I am a firm believer that alcohol does not belong in a skating rink period. I carried my children and grandchildren to a "suppose to be family" oriented place.I do not take them to Chuck E cheese because of the the reason. I will not support this. There is a problem with the parents if they cannot leave it alone for a few hours to spend
  9. I was wondering the same thing. It was loud!
  10. If you want them then get a few. That doesn't surprise me about not getting a straight answer but call back again and ask, get the name of whom you spoke too. If there is no HOA and the neighbors are fine with it then get them. Just make sure you have cages and that they are not free ranging. I have a neighbor next door that carries her food scraps every evening and dumps them in the woods and then complains if my animals dig out to go fetch the food.My motto is "If you don't want them there then don't feed the problem."
  11. Looks like the cupcake place in Downtown Hiram has closed down for good. They were never open. I did not know about the biscuit place even being there.
  12. yep, bats can be bad too. I went out one morning to take the children to school and they were going inside my detached garage. Did some research that day and when they came out that evening about 9:30 p.m. We close it up. Problem solved. Have not had that happen again. We also turned the attic light on and walked around the garage to see if we could see the light throughany cracks and caulked any places where we could see the light.
  13. Thanks, I am not above putting a note on my mirror when I am sick to also remind me about the toothbrush.
  14. Thank ya'll for posting this info. I am a grandmother of 11, but I know as a young mother I did not even think about stuff like this, I was too busy doing laundry, cooking and cleaning. I want everyone to get better, this has been a bad year. Keep ideas coming.
  15. CHANGE YOUR TOOTH BRUSH! I just got off the phone with 2 elderly aunts that are on their second round of antibiotics which is Z pack and they are still sick, I told them they are probably reinfecting themselves by using thier toothbrush. They both said that they have not even thought about that so I want to get the word out to our older generations whose memory is not that good and does not think as sharp as they use to and also to the busy mamas too. Change those toothbrushes if your kids are sick or sterilize them. For the mamas, boil some water and when finished boiling , push pot back from
  16. He needs to be made to pay back The Postal Service.
  17. I have had the same issue from time to time with 2 different homes. The home in Atlanta had a family of 6 coons living in the chimney. I went over there after church one day and seen one crawling out. Then the rain came for about 5 days straight so they stayed in until the rain stopped .I went over there while they were out feeding and closed the chimney off with wire.Problem solved. The home here was a different story. My son was hearing scratching above his head where he slept down stairs in a added room. He ended up cutting a piece of sheetrock out and found that sucker. A little mouse jus
  18. hiring does not start until Memorial Day weekend they stated. Please tell me how that helps even a veteran today. I quit shopping there many years ago.
  19. it will either heal ya or kill ya, either way when you have the flu you feel like your dying a slow death.
  20. I had the flu for the first time in my life in 2005. I had never got a shot before neither but I was at the Wedowee hospital in January that year, my dad was sick and hospitalized and I came home on that Friday evening and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I had fever , chills, body aches , headache, I did feel like I had been run over numerous times. 2 trips to the E.R. and 2 trips to my doctor, Alternating Advil/ Tylenol every 4 hours and I did that for 3 weeks. I have went and got the shot since. I have gotten a mild case 2 years ago and it lasted 3 days and I do mean mild. I just went to bed

    Help

thank you for all of the info.
  22. If your mother drives then you also need to have her vehicle checked, this is what started the health issues with the young man I have been trying to help. He had carbon monoxide poisoning from his vehicle. My hubby is a ASE certified mechanic and the young mans truck had a bad converter on it and my hubby was sick at the time and was not able to fix so we told the guy to carry it to a church friend of ours that has a shop and whoever there worked on it did not properly weld it.When my hubby got better and he and the young man was riding in his truck the exhaust fumes shot out of the air vents

    Help

Hi Chester, although I appreciate your input and totally understand what you are saying, this is not a full blown psychotic situation, I am 50 years old and in my twenties I went through a rough patch of one sickness after another and was somewhat anxious and depressed with not being able to do anything but go to doctors. This young man has senn 15 different specialty doctors in 1 year because of health issues. He has had some surgeries as well and now knows what his health issues are, he is on his way up to getting where he was a year ago and is doing quite well. He just needs to find a prima

    Help

Hi, Thanks for posting this but he just needs a primary care doctor that can treat it. The one he has in Hiram says he cannot treat him( he don't seem to want to even help his patients)I know a few of them and they are leaving his practice) so he sent him to a psychiatrist which he is getting treatment as we speak but they charge 135.00 without insurance per visit plus meds at pharmacy, when he loses his insurance he will be paying that, i am trying to help them cut cost a bit by maybe finding a primary care doctor that ain't afraid to do what he was trained to do.I do not want to see him doi
