I am as southern and Baptist as it gets. I do not handle snakes and do not believe in it. BUT I do believe in their freedom of religion. And yes, I believe the oyster bar has a right to say what he wants. He owns the place and pays the taxes. Do I agree with him?.......NO. But he does have his RIGHTS. As long as he does not physically harm a person. Just my thoughts.

Great idea, but don't we already have a Y? I think we need an indoor pool in the County. Since they enjoy wasting County money maybe they should look into this idea. I would gladly pay to join.

Just my thoughts: I have no problem with a public meeting being held in a Church........if both parties agree to it. HOWEVER......We have a HUGE Courthouse with many EMPTY meeting rooms AND an Airport with a HUGE meeting room. SO......if this meeting were about County business, why not hold it in a County office???? Again, nothing against the Church, they were just being cordial.

I own a gun, I know how to use it and I will use it if warranted. I will not live in fear........I will only live prepared. I am a Christian and know that God will protect me BUT it drives me nuts when people say that they do not need a gun because God is their protection. YES, HE is the ultimate protector but HE gives ME common sense to use. As far as this topic goes, I do have more fear in our county than I used to..........we ain't in Mayberry anymore.

Let me sum this up for you...... What we have is: 1) An airport to nowhere. 2) Sidewalks to nowhere. 3) Water-fountains in the middle of nowhere. What we do not have is: 1) Enough money to pay the teachers. 2) School-books for the kids. 3) Decent family venues.

The picture may or not be real......I don't really know. I am positive tho that there are panthers in these parts, I know many people that have seen them around here. Years ago I lived in a rental home in Dallas. Rumor was that there was an alligator in the lake. I did not believe it.......until I saw it myself. Then there actually ended up being 2 of them. (They have since died so there is no need to go on a gator hunt).

Thank you for posting this. I asked that the other thread be closed until we received some facts, there was a lot of rumors going around. What a sad story. And evidently the victim was not from Paulding. I hope the thugs are caught soon.

I was just informed by a reliable source that there was a shooting. The victim has died and the suspects are still loose. Pubby.....can you get a statement from the police to confirm this?

Yes to both of the above questions. It is exactly where the bakery used to be. It has been open for at least a year now.

The convenience store is in the Plaza next to the Subway. Azar owns the store, he used to own the Chevron across from the Waffle House on Hwy.61. Azar himself is a nice guy but the store does not have a good reputation. There is conflicting information as to what has happened so I was hoping someone had some facts and could let me know that Azar is okay.

There is a rumor that there was a shooting at the Plaza. Either at the Chinese Restaurant or the Convenience store next door. Can anyone with FACTS confirm or deny this and if it is true, do you know if it was Azar at the Convenience store. I know him personally and am just worried.

That puts a different perspective on things...... And I commend you greatly for caring for your parents, way too many people forget to care for the people that raised them. If the world would get back to taking care of our own (parents, kids, grandparents, etc..) then we would not need so much government dependency.

There are people that use the system out of need and those that ABUSE it out of greed. It is sad that those that really need it have such a hard time. Last Christmas I was at the Dallas Walmart picking up my dads medicines. There was an older man in front of me getting his meds and he had groceries in his cart.
