  5. I grew up in Kentucky....in the middle of Horse-Country, Fayette County, so I know a little about breeding and raising horses! You are absolutely correct.... Come over to The Political forum and contribute your obvious knowledge...there are some seriously mis-informed folks over there... ~FW~
  6. You-get-what-you-pay-for has never been truer than with tablet PC's...the Android units are susceptible to viruses.... I would at least spring for the Nook, at least they provide free tech support. As an alternative, you might consider a 'Refurbished' PC, which typically come with Windows and most will have a decent hard drive and a WiFi card....Dell regularly has these at very reasonable prices as does Overstock.com, Buy.com, New Egg...etc. Just my 2/cents.... ~FW~
  7. Then....you really do not want to ask about Beef, Pork Or Chicken... Our pets eat healthier foods! Next time you drive by a chicken farm, stop in and ask the owner for a tour.... ~FW~
  8. Coming soon to a Gourmet' Restaurant near you... 'Thoroughbred Sliders'.....Kobe Beef isn't the choice anymore! On a SERIOUS note--- if you simply do a bit of research you will discover there are agencies who are more than willing to help... http://www.cityofmil...B9A97FBEDC3B%7D http://www.clemson.e...al_rescue.html/ http://savethehorses...the_Horses.html ~FW~
  9. THAT....is why I said that Mr. Sam is probably spinning in his grave, but hey all that money allows his wierd daughter to spend Millions on an art gallery (Crystal Bridges) to ingratiate her to all of Arkansas...Yeah Right! Among the major supporters....GE (who paid no corporate tax last year) and Goldman-Sachs (who received a $19.2 Billion bailout) who, by-the-way recently announced they were outsourcing 1,000 jobs to China! Isn't philanthropy wonderful? Don't you wish you could 'puff-up' your ego by donating $$ to charitable causes? Especially when it is Someone Else's Mone
  10. Our Key Customer (Major Defense Contractor)....refuses anything that is imported and requires Certs (manufacture certification) on ALL components, from Set Screws to Electronic assemblies. I spend many hours scouring the internet looking for Cad Plated washers and SS Set Screws with US Certs... ~FW~
  11. I don't believe the chinese have caught on to 'Quality Control'...It's not their fault, as long as WallyWorld and HD are content to offer inferior products and we make buying choices on price alone! But then again, this goes back to our economic policies now doesn't it? I'll bet 'ol Sam Walton is spinning like a top at what his stores have become....To Sam it wasn't just about the money, it was about value and convenience. Until his last days...he still drove an old pick up and lunched with his buddies. Sam's 10 Rules for success; Rule #1 Commit to your business. Believe in
  12. The list includes; Wired Telecom Carriers Mills Newspaper Publishing Apparel Manufacturing DVD Game & Video Rental Manufactured Home Dealers Video Post Production Services Record Stores Photo Finishing Formal Wear and Costume Rental This is due largely to the influence of; The World Wide Web, Wireless Services, Cheap Imported Labor and the decline of the housing industry. *Based upon revenue declines 2000-2010 ~FW~
  13. Interesting comment, do you really believe that? What gripes me most is the airlines allow food to be brought on board.... Imagine that you have a 2 hour flight, you are sitting in the center seat in coach, the plane rolls out and 5 minutes later the seat belt sign is turned off....and the person on your right pulls out a 'Blimpie' 12" sub loaded with Onions and proceeds to eat it very slowly. Yuck! ~FW~

  15. Heck they have already been giving stuff away all year.... I usually watch Fox Business in the AM, mostly because of Don Imus...I'll swear that Joseph A. Bank could not possibly have any clothes left in any of his stores. he has been giving away suits, shirts, sport coats and ties all year long.... "Buy 1 suit at regular price and get 2 free" "Buy any 2 pair of pants and get a sport coat 2 shirts and 3 ties absolutely free" "Buy a pair of socks and get 3 sport coats free" But here is the best one yet.... I can't recall the name but it is a loan company owned by
  16. When this happens to me....sometimes I see a squirrel cross the road... hint: use your emergency flashers instead of your brake, that way your speed is maintained thus avoiding a rear-end mishap! Ooops, sorry officer, I thought he was gonna run across in front of me, why were you following too close anyway, isn't that against the law? ~FW~
  17. Great story pip... I had a similar experience in Germany...It is really nice to travel in a country with a native...I don't speak a word of German, but to this day I have no idea what I ate but it was Damn good! We had wine, beer, and some of the most spectacular dairy products, best yogurt I have ever tasted! I remember this one little Inn we stayed in in the wine region, I came down for breakfast the next morning, made a sign for coffee and the hostess led me to a small area where some breakfast items were laid out. I had heard nothing but German for most of a week. There w
  18. I agree pip...I have had some truly remarkable wines at the restaurants I mentioned, however I doubt any were in the $400/bottle class, more like $25-$30 I suspect, and then they were paired with food and selected by the chef or wine steward. A $400 bottle to me would be much like the $150 Single Malt Scotch...although I think they each would be excellent...but a bit much for my unsophisticated palate.... ~FW~
  19. What is the label? A $400 bottle of wine could be nothing more than vinegar if it is beyond its 'drinkable' window. Check with a large retail store and ask their wine expert... Give United Distributors in Smyrna a call...I am sure they could assist your friend.... You could always call a upscale restaurant's Sommelier; You might try any of the following: My favorites... Bacchanalia (404-365-0410), or their market...Star Provisions (same number) The Capital Grille (678-701-9277) Nikolai's Roof (404-221-6362) Canoe (770-432-2663) You might even try Paul Brown at:
  20. Online is the only way to do it.... No Sales tax No gasoline Avoid all the goof-balls at the WalMart No kids at the Mall and the UPS man brings it to me... ~FW
