  1. I know it sounds far fetched, but if you had 18 people that were willing to donate $100, it would be done.  I know it's getting close to christmas and it seems EVERYONE, definitely myself included as froggy's hours have been very short in the past few weeks, but it was an idea.  I'll say this...and I don't know that it will actually work, but if 17 other people would commit to donating $100, I will too.  I don't have a clue where the money is coming from, but I'll find a way.  So, the challenge is up.  If you are willing, let TnT know or post on here.  If/when you get 17, let me know and I'll be 18 (froggy---if you're reading this---I just really felt like this was important--you can skip my b.d. present if we end up being the 18th).

I will say you brought tears to my eyes... Thanks so much for you willness to do this.

I have a pay pal account set up if I can just figure out how to get it attached anyone can make donations to it and I will see that it goes to the payments. I will give my $100. Thanks so much for the challenge.

  2. The only thing I know so far is that it is going to take atleast $1800.00 to get things took care of so they do not lose the house and get the power back on.

I am still just looking at different things I can do to try and raise some of the money. I am just looking at it as every dollar I can help them with will be one dollar closer to the goal. Thanks for all the support each of you have shown. I am sorry I have not got a message on here sooner but my mind is in so many places.

Those of you that have said you will give food I will be happy to come pick it up and take it to them if it is items that does not have to be put in the refrig. until we get the power restored. I know some have said they have items that we can auction off and that will be great also if someone wants to just start that. I will do what ever I can to help this family.

I know others are having hard ships also and I hate to sound like I am begging but even my daughter is counting her pennies.

  3. I will see if I can find out just how much that it will take to get the power back on.

The kids are twin girls age 15 and two boys 6 and 8. I know the girls sizes are small shirts and jeans are 1's

The cooking they are doing is outside on a small grill.

Thanks for each of you that are looking into ways to help me out on this one.

  4. Just asking that everyone pray for the family of one of my daughters friends. The family has had the power cut off and is about to lose their house and really everything they have. They have 4 kids that is involved here and the holidays are comings soon and I just want God to show me a way that I can do something to help make this better for this family. The father has just got a job but it will still take some time for them to get on their feet. The kids have been eating pancakes for each meal other than the one they get at school. The family is really trying to do this on their own and will not ask anyone for help, so I am going to do what I can to help this family. Just pray that God will take care of this matter.

  5. I don't think she should be allowed to have anymore kids and if she does they should be taken as soon as they are born. They need to put her in a jail and make her look at a picture of that little boy sitting on the side of the road 24/7....

I had a cousin that did leave a child on the side of the road a few years ago in another state and she sit back and watched until someone picked up the kid. This was a baby just a couple months old. She now has 5 kids and none of them are with her. That is just not fair to the children.

  6. It is people like her that really make me sick. I had a son for 15 great years and God saw fit to carry him home and I would give anything to have him here with me each and every moment of the day now and you have people like this that just can throw them away. I will just never understand what goes through someones mind to do such a thing. If she did not want him she could have took him to any area hospital or police station where he would have been safe.

  7. So you are taking the word of a mass murderer as to the correctness of the details that night? I'd more inclined to believe that he'd sell his momma to the devil to not get the chair for this. Even his friend of 10 years can't corroborate his story.

She may very well be a skank/hoe/meth queen, but her circumstances should not detract from her getting the rewards.

    Very well said...

The reward money was there for who ever lead the cops to him. No matter if she knew him or not, had she not done what ever she did he might have still been on the run and who knows how many more he would have killed.

  8. Tammy, You are such an inspiration to me.  I know God is carrying you through and I thank you for being so open about it.

    ~hugs  Shawna

    Thanks Shawna...

I never know how I make it day by day, but God in carring me in his arms most of the time or I would never make it.

  9. Just wanted you to know that I wanted to listen tonight but my computer will not work right for some reason and it will not come in.

I am a 7 year suvivor and I must say that God has blessed me. Even though I lost a son to the battle of cancer almost 2 years ago he fought a great fight up until his last minutes. I just feel that God needed him and it was his time to go to his heavenly home.

May God bless each and everyone that has been touched by cancer in some way.

  10. THE CHURCH GOSSIP"

Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church's

morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several

members did not approve of her extra curricular activities, but feared

her enough to maintain their silence.

She made a mistake, however, when she accused Harry, a new member, of

being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the

town's only bar one afternoon. She emphatically told him and several

others that everyone seeing it there would know that he was drinking.

Harry, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned

and walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing.

Later that evening, Harry quietly parked his pickup in front of

    Mildred's house . . . walked home . . . and left it there all night.

Don't ya just love ol' Harry?

  12. A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street,

going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out

from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something.

As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the

Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the

spot where the brick had been thrown.

The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and

pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and

who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that

brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?"

The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I

didn't know what else to do," He pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one

else would stop..." With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the

youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother, "he

said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't

    lift him up."

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me

get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in

his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the

wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh

scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay.

"Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger. Too

shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his

wheelchair bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable,

but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the

dent there to remind him of this message: "Don't go through life so fast

that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!" God

whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have

time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or

    not.

    Thought for the Day:

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning Face it, friend - He is crazy about

    you!

Send this to every "beautiful person" you wish to bless.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without

rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and

    light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in...

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

  13. Today has not been my favorite day ever.

So at lunch, I went to a park not too far from work and walked, walked, walked.  It is just gorgeous outside and my head is a lot clearer now.

I can only do the best I can, treat people decently.....and that is really where my responsibilities end.  I just have to believe that things will work out the way they're supposed to.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my moment of clarity.....(I hope it is not a fleeting moment)!  :)

Thanks for sharing... After the day I have had I think I am going to go take a walk now and when I get back in to my desk things will all be better.

  14. Wow, it hurts to see this post just after the one I started about finding that I belong at West Ridge. However, I didn't get any mailers or anything trying to "lure" me in  but, if I continue to go there and the Lord moves me to give back to my church, then by-cracky I will do so whole heartedly!  :D

You do not need to let this thread get you down. It really just proves a point that people are finding this worship by other ways and it is not that you was lured in. You need to continue to go where the Lord leads you and if it is there then that is great and if he leads you to another church you will know you have found a home.

  15. I am just afraid , if she is so social, she may rebel . Sounds like she really likes being with friends. If you and your daughter are home together all day, well, you may not get along if she is mad at you. It's a tough age . Are her friends in her classes ? You may need to go to the principal and have her class changed. I have teens too. I wish there was a good inspitational speaker who could come to the schools and talk to them. Or the mentors you hear so much about. Because it sure is not cool to listen to your parents . I would get her opinion on the home schooling thing. If she is OK with it, I would give it a try. If she absolutely hates the idea , then I would have a long talk. I feel your pain.

I really agree with everything you just said. We know of one of our daughters friends that was pulled out of school to be home schooled. And not to say that it is always going to turn bad but this teen really rebelled and is now a high school drop out. I think you have to use your own judgement because I feel that each child and case is different.

  16. I just realized I haven't been receiving my daily dose of junk mail pleading for donations and new members. I guess they finally collected enough for their new palace... I thought from the begining that little campaign was quite transparent and now since the mailings have stopped completely, it is most obvious.

It takes money to make anything happen and everyone goes out and gets the money in different ways. Some stands on street corners and some even stand in the middle of the street, some wash cars. some sell things, and some do by mail. I get something in the mail about everyday asking for money. If they (the church) have been sending you something in the mail and wasting the 37 cent stamp maybe God took your name off the list. God does know when the door is closed and after a while he quits knocking.

As far as the music instruments they play in the church, I do not see a big deal because I am sure that souls in heaven are playing them also.

I have never visited West Ridge Church but if it is God's house then I say let them rock on and with the crowds they are having they have to be doing something right.

  17. Well we was wanting to go with comcast and they will not bring it down our drive. We live on a Path and all three of us that live on this path was going to sign up but they said no. The path is about 1/8 mile long and they would not even give us the chance to pay to run the cable. Oh and it took us 2 visits and 3 phones calls before we finally got the answer No you can't sign up.
