  1. Most of the NJ and PA turnpike money goes to upkeep and UNION salaries for the people standing in the booths. Here is something to think about when your talking about "all the profit they will make" on a toll road... + SR 18 widening in rural King County - about $24.5 million per mile.<br style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: 16px; text-align: left; "> + US 12 widening south of Tri Cities - about $3.7 million per mile. <br style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: 16
  2. LOL Destroy your quality of life? A toll road would destroy your Quality of life? Im thinking a Higher tax rate due to lack of a tax base other than homes would be more of a destruction of life, but then again... I have been wrong before. And who cares about a few hundred jobs? Thats the spirit... Who cares about the neighbors who are losing their homes to forclosures, who cares about my property values dropping because of the 25 homes in a neighborhood are forclosed on. Its not me right?
  3. If someone comes in to town, promises NONE of your money is to be invested and wants to make a commute to 75N/S shorter and less traffic.....why would you not vote YES? Remember that NONE of yours or your neighbors money is being used, not a cent of SPLOST funds, Not a dime UNLESS YOU decide to save 30 minutes or so on your commute to Orlando, Nashville, Miami, or anywhere else that connects North or south 75 from Atlanta. You that are fussing and getting negative are typically the same people that fusssed about the housing industry boom and how that was the only permits being permitted and
  4. Negative nancies and Debbie downers....... Status quo gets you nowhere. If you do not think Paulding is better today than 10 years ago your lost. We have more food choices, more groceries stores, banks, gyms, and Many other options. Change happens and can be for the better. I'm kids of dissapointed that business owners are even considering a NO vote. In no way is a toll road NOT funded by a PENNY of your money a bad decision. To have options is grand, to have no options is a bad thing. Counties that make bad decisions pay higher taxes. BTW my home owners DID go down when the fire rankings w
  5. True. I'm just speaking from a business aspect. I need to do more here locally, have more opportunities to sale more. To sale more.... i need people with jobs, People with places to work. Its all a cycle. No worries but I know i need some business.. Its tough for the little guy.
  6. Yea sure. That as well i suppose. But then again... thats exactly what I do in my own front yard "where there is no toll road or interstate".
  7. was thinking more of an 8 year term limit. This would allow all new guys and old guys and gals to be in a system a lot like the college football teams. There would be some Freshmen to SR's and this would allow for freshness in the system. If the system was too complicated they would be forced to simplify it and would make the changes needed quicker than having to wait 20 years for them. Im speaking of larger politics than just local. Local Mayors and all are ok with no term limits as they are small enough to actually have grass root uprisings easier and they are local to answer for their actio
  8. You know as well as I do that BOTH parties suck and both parties play with OUR money to buy votes. Some give it to corps that EMPLOY people and add to the GDP and others give it to the ones too lazy to work and contribute to our GDP. Its just the DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS that we disagree on. Both are guilty and are liars and we fight to protect and justify the liars instead of giving them term limits and stopping this madness.
  9. Camp Creek has brought millions of dollars of money to that area. Just look at the business that are located from I-20 to I-85. There are HUGE facilities there from Greybar's to Miller Zells. Not to Mention the hundreds of thousands of jobs that are located in them. College park area is a different beast. Location, location, location.
  10. JEAN O is the way to GO... i like that as a tag line.
  11. I surf the web and talk on my HTC Thunderbolt with Verizon. I wonder why the Iphone is like that? Although that being said... I wont own another apple phone or Mac after owning the Droids. They are superior in many ways, including the music options where i pay absolutely nothing for my downloads and have FREE Google turn by turn directions with a Photo of the building or home that i am driving too so that i recognize it when i get there. Droids are definitely the way to go. My extended battery gives me ALL DAY phone usage from 5am-10pm. Its awesome.
  12. I lived in NE Philadelphia and just off the PA Turnpike. Bucks County was an Awesome place to live and very clean and one of the best places to live in PA. I think its all relative to where you lived, in what city and how the area was prior to the roads being installed. Just like the Toll Road here 400South is a fantastic area to live in and work in and it saves the people and business' countless hours a week being able to use it. As far as toll roads in general... they are typically better taken care of then roads that are not funded annually. Just look at how nice the toll roads are going t
  13. Ours was way down as well. I love this time of year, but even in the heat of summer our power bills were low 200's. With our lighting and radiant barriers....were on a 35% typical savings monthly.
  14. I know an LED manufacturing company that ISN'T coming to PC partly because we are not progessive enough nor do we have the initiatives to promote them. now their HQ is in Norcross and will soon be relocating to Alabama and building a 15 MILLION DOLLAR FACILITY and hiring over 100 people. Distribution routes stink here and until we move towards business .....we all will continue to drive out of PC for work WHEN THERE ARE JOBS.
  15. We demand more firemen, police, sheriffs officers, longer government hours so we have more convenient times to get tags and animals yet we do whatever it takes to stiffen business growth. Makes no sense how were not willing to pay more taxes for our demands yet we try and keep more business opportunities from growing our tax bases and supplied jobs. We in PC are completely backwards in our thoughts and actions.
  16. I'm voting YES. Business is needed and you can NOT drive on the road if you don't want it. Like changing the chanel if you don't want to watch a show instead of banning it
  17. Industry will not move here until they can deliver their product to the Interstates in a timely manor. There is not a county that is truly making industrial gains WITHOUT a connection to the interstates. This is why we believe it will help bring industry to the county. Sewer systems as well will help. Who would want to bring out a manufacturing plant with septic? No one, its the services and deliveries that will make a difference here. Without it.... 72% of the county will continue to drive to another county for work and use their money in that county buying Gas, Fast Food, Drinks and other s
  18. Can't wait for other new ones. Always been a fan of B&B
  19. I just can't handle the smoke in the bars now . I liked that I could go to birdies and get a table every UFC fight. LOL
  20. LOL. I was at the football field. Sorry but I was freezing as well.
  21. Well, he is going to OPEN a new Place in that exact spot. He isn't buying them, sorry I wasn't saying it properly.
  22. LOL I know. A good friend is buying it.
  23. Just heard some fantastic news about a buyout. Can't say much but a much better place is replacing Birdies. Cant wait.
