  17. we started taking him to a Dr to try and find out what might be going on. Early on the Dr said Irlen Syndrome and the Dr thought he had some attn. problems. Well once this Dr tried to send us to the ONLY person in GA that makes colored glasses (the best "cure") for Irlen Syndrome for $500 and insurance does not cover it. He was suppose to be finding out what our ins. would cover for the attn. testing and he has never called us back and did not reply to an email we sent him. We have just about decided that maybe he got a kick back from that $500 and that we are gonna try a new Dr and see what t
  18. this is hard for me to answer. He came home very excited to go to middle school next year. He wants to be in the band but I think that will be the only thing he would care about. His grades really seemed to start droping off in 3rd or 4th grade and I talked to his 4th grade teacher about holding him back then and she said that they hardly ever hold a kid back in 4th that 5th would be the grade to hold him back.
  19. the grades on his report card were not great at all. He did not have the greatest teacher this year and that might have played a small part. He 1/2 arse did the work, getting him to do homework was a nightmare, he didnt come anywhere close to reading the 25 books, he just doest want anything to do with school work. We would get him a tutor if we could afford it but we cant. He had extra help after school in EYP or something like that and then even more help once the 1st set of CRCT scores came in
  20. my son failed the the math part of the CRCT. He retook the test and failed again, he got something like a 782 and needed an 800 to pass. The principal seems to think we can appeal it (they say you HAVE to pass the CRCT to pass the grade) an get him pushed on through but we are thinking about holding him back because he seems to be very imature. He is one of the youngest in the class (birthday in late July) and we are just wondering if holding him back in the 5th grade will help or do more damage. He already "hates school" so we are worried it might do more harm then good, but on the other hand
