  1. If you are looking at a 7 day cruise, the one I just posted for Norwegian Spirit is the best price from a port you can drive to. I really don't like to go more than an 8 hr drive. If you can fly or drive furthur or if you would like a shorter cruise, let me know and I will check for you.

Wedneday, October 14th will be the best day to book a cruise. This is National Cruise Month and the cruise lines will be offering some great deals.

I noticed the 7 day cruises, but they were only up through January - and we are wanting to go in February.

I would love to be able to book our cruise October 14th, but I still haven't heard anything about if they are going to make the kids make up the flood days by attending school that week. I'd hate to book the cruise, then not be able to go and lose money.

Also, we still have to get passports, so I would rather not book until we have those in hand just in case they are backlogged or something.

  2. Have an eye brow Question. Where is the best place to take someone to have their eye brows done. Seems like I remember people on here one time talking about gettng them done at nail salons.

Personally, I always like mine best when I get it done at the nail salon in Wal-Mart. I would guess that everyone has their own preference, though.

  3. We just passed it and that white vehicle (truck?) was in horrible shape. I said to my sister, "I hope no one was in the passenger seat". I'm still a little shook up and I wasn't even involved. I sure hope everyone comes out of it alright.

That was the same comment that my husband had.

  4. I just past this about 20 mins ago and life flight had landed at the corner of Mt Tabor/Frey Rd and Dallas-Acworth Rd. EMT was there and several police had the area blocked for the flight. Look like the patient might have been from the white truck. The car in front of Rodney's that got burnt also had another car at that scene that was in the ditch and the tow truck was pulling it out when I went by. It was a white car but not sure of the make and model.

I really hate to hear that Life Flight had to be called in. I will have them in my thoughts tonight.

  5. The truck was across from the stables, and then there were a couple of cars right in front of Rodney's. I didn't really catch much about the cars, but the truck was a white pick up - looked like a single cab, but not positive. It was laying on its side in the yard on the opposite side of the road - like you would be headed to Crossroads, and it was in someone's yard facing Crossroads, but on the side of the road headed to New Hope.

We were listening to the scanner to see what was going on, and all we caught was that it was a wreck with injuries. I really hope that nobody was hurt too bad and that it looked much worse than it actually was.

  6. We just came home from work through New Hope from Acworth and there was a horrible wreck headed towards Crossroads right past Rodney's.

Got on here to see if anybody knew what was going on, but don't see anything. Anybody know? Looks pretty bad.

  7. 1. Our favorite is "Other" because we love going to visit my dad in KY because it's so laid back up there.

    2. We usually leave the night before - that's my choice. The hubby always tries to talk me into leaving the next morning, but I insist on leaving the night before and driving at least half way to wherever we are going. Otherwise, we don't get on the road at

a decent time, and it just puts off to a bad start.

    3. We've been on vacation with hubby's family (usually quite miserable). We've been on vacation with my mom (just as miserable). When we go to KY to visit my dad, he's very laid back and doesn't care if we do anything or not. Generally, I prefer if we're not visiting my dad, that it's just us and the kids - then the only griping we have to listen to is the kids.

    4. We usually talk about what we want to do, then get around to doing them - or not. So I guess we like the rough schedule that can be changed as we go along.

    5. At my dad's we eat out once while we're there. If we're somewhere else, we eat most of our meals out. However, we went on a cruise in October and learned the benefits of an all-inclusive vacation - so that's what we are planning to do this year. It's so much cheaper!!!

    6. I HATE shopping, so the hubby doesn't have to babysit or get drug out shopping. Typically, he does more shopping than I do because he always thinks that he needs to hit the fishing section in Wal-Mart no matter where we are.

  8. My oldest cries everytime that he partcipates in a retirement ceremony. It just shakes his whole body. We did one at our pack campout - three dads that coordinated it are all vets - it was amazing!!!!

We always do flag retirement ceremonies at our fall camp outs. Several of the boys participate in cutting the stripes, then we have adults that are current / former armed services to carry the stars to the fire. It's always such a neat ceremony. We can't wait until Sunday. We are looking very forward to it.

  9. This isn't the first time that their health score has been low. We haven't eaten there in what seems like forever because of a low health score.

Sorry. There are several places in Dallas / Hiram that we won't eat for the same reason. The first thing my boys do when we walk in the door of a restaurant is look at the score - and then read why it scored that.

  10. I went to FL during Spring Break and bought the new Neutrogena sunscreen SPF 70. 4 adults and 6 kids used it and we all got BURNT bad!! Worse sunburn I have ever had and I grew up in South Florida. We applied it about 45 minutes before going into the sun and 2 more times while out in the sun. Did not work at all. Will never use it again.

Thanks for letting me know that before I spent my money on it.

I put the Banana Boat 75 on my son over the weekend while we were camping with Scouts, and he was out in the sun all day long Saturday fishing, doing water balloons and water guns and didn't get burnt. I applied it in the morning, and again after lunch.

    No problems at all.

  11. I used to use Blue Lizard sunscreen on my youngest son. It is what the dermatologist recommended for my MIL a few years ago because she has the same fair skin that he does (both redheads).

Now, we buy him the spray (found Banana Boat 85spf the other day) and use a stick on his nose and the rest of his face (50spf). I heard that the Neutrogena sunscreen is supposed to be really good, too, and I'm thinking about buying some of that to try this summer.
