Got a letter both today and yesterday addressed to different folks other than us at my address from Wellstar. When I called the office it was coming from they said they would transfer me to XXXX who is handling this situation. So I assume I'm not the only one. That person wasn't in and I imagine will call me back tomorrow. More to come !!!

Anyone having phone trouble? Dial tone ok, can't call
AustinPlantation replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Actually got a tech within an hour. Possible wire corrosion outside. Can't understand why there was a dial tone. All good now. -
Merv Griffin may be up there too? Another question ... why do all the current late night hosts have to be from Scotland ... Ireland ... Great Britain?

Pate said it was the most lint he ever saw in a dryer
AustinPlantation replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
.Just thinkin hard is correct. There was a panel in front under the dryer that should be removed. It's where the motor is and the lint was all in there. Never know about that or how it got down there. -
Pate said it was the most lint he ever saw in a dryer
AustinPlantation replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yes, he said it could have started a fire eventually. Good thing it killed the motor first. -
So the dryer stopped a while back and we called Pate to find out why. We had the vent cleaned recently, so we knew that wasn't the problem. When he opened the compartment below the dryer, where we never looked, he saw more lint than he ever saw before surrounding the motor. Took up a huge bag. Still have no idea how the lint was getting down there. Now, we'll keep an eye on it. We love our local craftsmen who come quickly and easily solve problems. Before this he came for an emergency when the fridge started pouring out water.

This afternoon we heard rushing water and determined it was coming from under the deck. Couldn't find shutoff valve in house or outside meter. First called county who came and shut off the water. Next called Skyline, who got someone here and found a hose that's hidden had frozen and snapped back, causing a leak on the other side of the deck, which ran downhill to where I thought it was coming from. Thanks again to Skyline.

We had a party line and a phone with no dial in the Catskills many years ago. Pick up the phone and the operator answers. Either tell her you want 345R2 and she will ring line 345 two times or you could say you want Doc Stevens in Anytown and she would know where to reach him at the moment.

Waste Industries is still charging me $44 quarterly for waste (weekly) and recycling (every 2 weeks) and has been doing a good job. I did have an inflated bill many months ago and it was corrected quickly. If Customer Service doesn't fix it, send a private message to Waste Industries on pcom.

Got to say I haven't heard of the Wills family in Dallas, but apparently they've been giving since the original Paulding hospital came in, being part of the effort to being a hospital here. This year they gave $25K to have a room in their name. Wonder who they are.Story: http://patch.com/georgia/buckhead/wills-family-gives-25k-christmas-gift-benefiting-wellstar-paulding-hospital-0?utm_source=newsletter-daily&utm_medium=email&utm_term=bulletin%20board&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_content=article-topstories

Weirdest Bank Incident Ever --- can you beat this?
AustinPlantation replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
These are all great stories. Maybe mine wasn't the worst one. Only theory I came up with was that it had to be someone at the bank, someone who knew all the numbers, that requested the transfer because s/he would get some sort of bonus based upon the transfers processed by him/her. We got the card when we were in there to take out the required IRA distribution for those at my age, so the gov't can make sure the get the taxes before I pass on. Not only did that person offer the card, she kept asking if we wanted to pay off another credit card with a balance transfer. Just a theory, but I co -
(1) We got a past-due notice from a bank when we hadn't received a statement before for a new card we hadn't used yet. 2) Called the bank's automated Customer Service number and when I distinctly asked for Customer Service, I was switched to another line, where after a few seconds, was hung up on. Happened 3 times in a row. (3) Called the bank again and this time pressed "0" amd was switched to a Customer Service guy in a different area, who was obviously new and kept asking the other guys for answers. Was told that because of the period ending date, we correctly received the past-due notice

One reason we never use the drive-through window and should't they call it a Drive by Window? A drive through sounds like you wind up in the building!!!

Sony's first mistake was not using a fake dictator that resembles him, like it was done in that Sasha Baron Cohen movie. Now he could sue for using his name without permission and for royalties. -
