Back in the day, I worked on Christmas Eve up to 7pm or later. The store closed at 6pm, but then you had to get everyone checked out and the tills counted and as a manager I was the last to leave I also went to work, for 15 years, at midnight on Christmas day. The reason that the media quit mentioning the race of criminal suspects is that in the early 80s the black leaders made an issue out of the media mentioning the race of a suspected criminal, so the TV news and the print media, for the most part, stopped mentioning the race of the suspected criminal.
