  1. I always wanted a tattoo, but two things stopped me. 1. What to get tattooed. 2. Where to put it. Now I know what to get and where to put it, but I am sure the wife wouldn't like it.
  2. More JR High drama. I have shown my rear more times than anyone should in life. The worst thing that can happen to me when I have done so, is for everyone else to remain classy. If they lower themselves to my butt showing level, all that is accomplished is that we have two asses instead of one.
  3. I just have one question, you are taking me aren't ya? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?
  4. Yeppers I does. I was channeling my inner pubby, so getting it out is always better.
  5. Just remember this, if you think my posts are long, keep in mind my finger gets tired, but my mouth, never does. (so, keep my wife in your thoughts and prayers)
  6. Several points. (I don't think it needs to be stated, but just for laughs, here it is anyway...all of this, is just my opinions) Sides - I am soooooo sick of "sides". It sounds like JR High School crap. I got a freaking side, it is the side of what is best for the county and it's people, now and in the future. I can be for something I think will be good for the county and not be for the person that is proposing it. I can be against something I think will be bad for the county and still be for the person that is proposing it. I can be against or for something and still be your friend
  7. Pubby, To my knowledge, I don't know any of the people in our county government, with the exception of Todd Pownell. While I do know Todd, and would consider him a friend, it has been several years since I have seen him and I have maybe spoken with him 2 or 3 times a year, usually for less than 5 minutes, since I last saw him. My reason for saying the above is this, I owe no allegiance to anyone employed or elected to our county government. However, I feel I do owe an allegiance to the people of our county, of which I am one. So I don't give a good damn who is pissed at who or who is t
  8. First, as far as I know I have never met Mike Jones, nor do I know if he was good at his job. Second, I started this thread because I had reason to believe that Mr. Jones had either been let go or resigned his job and I was curious if this was correct. Third, I was aware of an article, which included an email stating that Mr. Jones had threatened the owner of a local company with lose of business unless an employee of that company quit being friends with the author of the article and stopped attending political meetings. This article concerns me for two reasons. 1. If the things stated
  9. He was perfect, wasn't he. Aren't we glad that things like what happened in that clip no longer go on?
  10. A dumb, but serious question. Is there an up side to using this service, outside of not having to go pickup the food yourself? Which at times is enough upside.
  11. I agree. It is a sorry situation all the way around. If the allegations are even somewhat true, it is...words fail me. Again, if true, what kind of people think that they can get away with this type of thing in today's world? This isn't 1924, where this type of thing can be swept away and never see the light of day. On a side note, if true, it sure does lend a lot of credence to what surepip has said happened and was said to him....huh.
  12. I wonder how many watched the 3 minute clip.
  13. Thanks pubby, if I had wanted to discuss the remake, I certainly would have mentioned the remake.
  14. Thank you. I think I fixed it. First time I ever did something like this.
  15. If you get a chance, do not miss the movie, All the King's Men (1949), starring Broderick Crawford, John Ireland and Joanne Dru. The movie is based on the book of the same name and is a fictionalized account of the political life of Huey (Kingfish) Long, Huey Long was the Democratic governor of Louisiana from 1928-1932 and served in the US Senate from 1932-1935, when he was assassinated. (although Long ran for governor in 1924 and was defeated) Long was famous for his "Share the Wealth" program, as well as building roads, schools and charity hospitals in rural LA. He was also famous not s
  16. If what has been written about the conflict between this writer/reporter (in the link above) and Mr. Jones is true, then shame on Mr. Jones and shame on the unnamed "Christian" business owner. It has been my experience that the more someone tells me how much a Christian they are and how much their business is a "Christian" business, the more likely they are to act both personally and in business, anything but "christian" like. I have found this to be true at least 99% of time. Most people who actions are "Christian" like don't need to tell you they are Christians, they let their actions sp
  17. I am presuming that Mr. Jones has resigned his position. If this is incorrect, please correct me. If this is correct, does anyone know why he resigned?
  18. Pubby, If I understand correctly, you say that many people were against a general station airport because they didn't want growth. You say those fears are both unfounded and backward. You say this is true also of the commercialization of the current airport battle. You say that no one questioned Blake Swafford's credentials, at the time, to manage a general aviation airport. As you know, I am mostly neutral about the commercialization of our airport. However, you do bring up some points that bother me about our county doing so with the same people running the project. 1. Your poin
