Look at the link to the email. This would easily be actionable for libel, if it wasn't true. -
While there are many to choose from, my favorite story about Smokey Yunick and his battles with NASCAR, is the one where NASCAR had really cracked down on Smokey's car. The had tore it apart, even going so far to take the fuel tank out. When Smokey came up to discuss the situation with NASCAR, they showed him a list with 9 items on it that they wanted corrected. Smokey looked at the list, looked at his fuel tank laying on the ground, got in his car, started it up, and as he was driving the fuel tankless car away, shouted out the window, "Make that 10."

Not to defend NASCAR, but that is everything nowadays. I guess we are just old and grumpy, but I agree with you, almost everything has turned into wrestling. I also remember the old days when a single car owner/driver could go out, maybe not win, but finish well enough to keep racing and then once in a blue moon, the stars align and they won a race. They were a huge part of NASCAR, the Dave Marcis's, the J.D. McDuffie's, the Jimmy Means, heck, even ole Marty Robbins.

Ummmmm, I wouldn't bet on that. Maybe not today and maybe not every race, but there have been a few that were weighted to help certain people. Richard Petty's last win, his car was found to be illegal. They took everything away from that win, money, trophy, everything.....except the win. Why? Because it gave him win number 200. Remember when Darrell Waltrip won in a car that even Ned Jarrett said on air, if that car goes the rest of the way without stopping for gas, they need to look for another gas tank? Ohhhhh, it is just coincidental that during practice the officials found

Actually, in this case it is not a he said, she said situation. Mr. Jones was accused of telling a business owner that if an employee of that business did not stop attending certain political events and associating with MS Goldman, the business owner would not receive any more county business. The allegation is that the business owner then told their employee what Mr. Jones supposedly said and advised the employee to follow the rules laid out by Mr. Jones...or be fired. Ohhhh, the employee supposedly sent MS Goldman an email detailing the above information. MS Goldman has published this ema -

Perhaps, but if I get wrongly accused of what Mr. Jones was accused of, I stand on the mountain top and shout my innocence to all that will listen. I have no first hand knowledge of what took place with Mr. Jones, MS Goldman and any third and/or fourth parties. I do know this, once the accusations were made, IMO, we the citizens of this county had a major problem. This wasn't just someone saying, so and so is crook, this was very specific and very detailed accusations. So we either have someone libeling a county official, accusing them of using their county office and power to keep peo -

I can only use common sense. Mr. Jones is accused of abusing his office, in print. Within 48 hours, Mr. Jones resigns from his job. If you read all my posts, I have said that if these allegations are not true and correct, then I, and I presume Mr. Jones, have an issue with false allegations. However, Mr. Jones's behavior would lead me to believe there may be in fact be fire in this smoke. If Mr. Jones wanted to make a statement on social media, I would think he would be able to do so himself, not have to go through a second party. Bottom line, more problems with our local gov -

Kurt Busch commented on his suspension: "I want all my fans to know that I will be back racing soon, thrashing all competition. As far as my suspension, my lawyer advises that we will beat this rap. As far as my ex-girlfriend goes, I am innocent of all charges and I never laid a hand on her and I will smash these allegations when the time comes. In short, I may be battered and bruised, but I am not out."

Did Mike Jones resign his job?

I didn't include those last parts because they don't have anything to do with why Mr. Jones resigned. If Mr. Jones wanted to make a public statement about why he was leaving his job, then he would have called a real press conference. ETA, if Mr. Jones just wanted "his side" put on pcom, he could have just done so himself. No need to set up some weird ass "meeting". -

Short version. Mr. Jones was accused of abusing the power of his office by a private citizen. He resigned his job within 48 hours of this alleged abuse becoming public. So far, that's it.
