  1. We can agree on the all have room for improvement, I certainly have. As far as that definition, while I do have strong opinions, I do try and keep an open mind. I have changed my opinion on many things after hearing other peoples views and facts. Where the second part of that definition is concerned, that does not apply to me and I will not have it said about me in seriousness. You and I have had conversations and you cannot think of one thing I have ever said that would lend credence to my fitting that description. As far as my wife goes, I didn't care what her politics were. I knew
  2. I appreciate a joke on me as much or more than the next guy and I hope this is one. I may be a lot of things, prejudice (mostly against young people and yuppies), stubborn, at times closed minded, stuck in the past, living in fantasy land, but I am not a bigot.
  3. That statement is wrong on sooo many levels.
  4. Warning signs of getting to far left. Posting warning signs of "warning signs".
  5. Gotta love it when I can combine two of my favorite loves, crime and Kate. katemicucci At the actual Wegman's where Robert Durst was arrested for stealing a sandwich. To be fair, it does say "Grab 'n Go." #thejinx
  6. The reason you think they are center-right is that you are soooooooo far left, anything that else is center-right. You are sooooooooooooooooooooooo far left that if the world tilted your way 1 degree, you would fall into fascism.
  7. I guess he thinks that people of any other race or religion are too dumb to own and run businesses. I disagree with him.
  8. I have to be careful, I had to take the wife to the docs today and her blood pressure was through the roof. New meds, new BP testing machine and 6 hours later, she is doing better. I told her she could vote for Hillary. She told me to do something that is anatomically impossible. Yep, she's feeling better.
  9. Like the lady said, ya gotta do, what ya gotta do.
  10. "...the young and the poor (people who don't as a rule vote) from the wealthy (who not only vote but contribute to campaigns)." Soooo, the wealthy voted in Bill Clinton and Obama? Look, if pubby can have his version of the future, I want to have mine.
  11. Since we are projecting into the future, I see me and Kate and the wife living together. My future is looking rosy.
  12. I know a lot or some disagree with my view point on this topic. I would try and make more points, but at the moment I am trying to get the wife to understand my points. (Help!)
  13. I can honestly say that the wife does that on a personal level. Sometimes it worries me, she needs to be a little more wary.
  14. Like my momma said, "Money will make even good people do bad things." See my momma's take on money.
  15. Nah, that still lets you in, we need tighter restrictions than that.
  16. I know they have handouts, but I am just old fashioned and curmudgeony enough to not want to read a handout, but rather have the employees know where and what is in their store. I almost bought bleech, but I decided we had all the bleech we needed with me.
  17. Sounds like a great business opportunity to open a store/restaurant/gas station/hotel that caters to all people, just like most of them would anyway. And, it gives the rest of us a chance to not do business with those who refuse provide service to this black gay couple with the middle eastern adopted baby.
  18. Dang son, I hope you are wrong. I know stuff like that happens, but I always hope it isn't.
  19. I don't understand it either, but quite often I find myself in the same debate with my wife, so I think it comes from the heart.
  20. We do have the freedom to be a bigot and we should have that in our businesses also. In fact, I would much rather know that a company is owned by a bigot and refuses to do business with some sections of society, that way I know whose businesses to avoid. Example: I haven't eaten at a Denny's since it came out that they supported discrimination against black employees and customers. This was proven, not just inferred. I only wish they had been able to put up a sign, that way I could have avoided them earlier.
  21. And while I may not agree with those positions, I do believe they have the right to make those choices. See, I believe that in a free country, you are free to decide what you want to do with what you own. And no, that is not stopping anyone from buying a cake, eating dinner out and buying a house. They can still do those things. You do not have a right to have the cake you want from where you want, eat where you want or buy a house where you want. I know, it doesn't "feel good", but that is the way it is....or should be. Like someone else said, if you don't want to do business with me
  22. Is there anyone you and pubby agree with........besides me? (yes, it was a joke) (if I was serious I woulda said my wife)
