I said the same thing to the wife, when we first started dating, about her kids. They both had jobs, neither were in jail and neither (well, the jury may still be out on this one) has an addiction issue.

Not to get too far off topic (like that has ever stopped me before), but one of the best funerals I ever heard preached was by a minister that didn't know the deceased. He said up front that he had never met him, but this preacher did his homework and he had talked extensively with the immediate family and he said, here is what the people who loved him said about the man. He nailed it, it was all about the deceased and since it came from people who knew him well, it was right on the money. He didn't try and spin it or change it, he just said it.

Bobby Womack, when I saw that name I thought, I know him. My second thought was, but I can't place him. I was trying to think of people I actually knew in person. My first thought was almost correct, I knew of him. I never knew Taylor was that old. I would have guessed in his mid fifties. Not that late 60's is old anymore.

"Mom, the printer is printing all by it's self! But there is nothing on the paper!" "Don't worry, that just your father. He still hasn't learned how to work the computer." I love that story. Just think, if your dad had been better with the computer, we may have the first printed message from the beyond. (said with a little joking and perhaps a little bit of seriousness, who knows?) But no offence meant in any way.

Well at least you have an open mind about it.

Funerals can be strange things, people who may not be the best person for the job often end up in a position to say and/or do weird stuff. I went to the funeral of my brother's father-in-law, my brother's deceased wife's father. My brother's wife had died suddenly several years before, and all that preacher talked about was my brother's wife dying and the preacher's relationship with Jerry Falwell, for almost 2 hours. Oh, he did mention the deceased a couple of times.

We have had some pretty serious topics for a while, perhaps we can discuss a topic that may be interesting and really doesn't mean much in the long run. I would like to know what you think about paranormal things and the various creatures that are often seen by people. Do you think the exist? Don't exist? May exist? Just aren't sure? Just don't care? I have made my list that I would like your answers to, I have included mine. I have also included a couple of short storys about my experiences. Please feel free to add to the list and include any experiences you may have or know of.

I am starting to change my opinion a little about D'ville. Last weekend the wife and sent to the mexican place to pickup some food and were panhandled by a "homeless" couple who needed help getting a motel. The liberal wife was approached first and by the time I could get there, she had already promised them help. Tonight I stopped by the mexican joint to pickup some food and I was again approached by a guy panhandling. I told him I helped someone last weekend, that my quota for the month had been filled and he was a week late. It is starting to seem like you can't even go and pickup s

I am starting to wonder about a mental issue.

This is a bad deal all the way around. I doubt this kid would have ever done anything like this if alcohol and/or drugs were not involved. (yes, I am presuming) Two lives lost, one wasted and countless more changed forever. It would not surprise me to learn that he had been protected from receiving consequences of past actions.
